I bet Texas will offer him a 2-3 year contract, but who knows.... Interesting weekend of baseball so far, including two great games today. The Tigers pushed the A's to the brink of elimination on a walkoff sac fly, and Coco Crisp played like Josh Hamilton and dropped a routine flyball in centerfield, scoring a run for the Tigers. The Nationals come from behind on a late 2 run RBI single to beat the Cards 3-2. Last night, the Reds lost Johnny Cueto just after 8 pitches, but the Reds had no problem beating the Giants. Currently, the Yankees and Orioles are in a rain delay.
Tigers up on the A's 3-1 in the top of the 8th, with Fielder and Garcia on first and third with 2 outs. Looks like the Tigers may be the first team to go to the LCS. But we've learned to never count the A's out until the very last strike has been thrown. The Giants/Reds series has been a good one...can the Giants come back from down 0-2? Winner-takes-all game tomorrow in Cincy. In other news, the Yankees walked off tonight. David Freese isn't impressed though. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'll be honest, I'm having trouble even concentrating on work today. Fantastic night of ball yesterday, and today should be outstanding. I respect the Nationals a lot, but I sure as heck don't want to see them again on Friday night. Go Cards !
It's not quite the excitement of last years postseason, one that saw a ton of 5, 6, and 7 game series', but this reminds me of why I love baseball. Once you're in, everyone has a fighting chance to get the rings.
Reds/Giants just wrapped up. What a game, and what a series. Giants came back from an 0-2 deficit to win the series, the first NL team to do so.
Another day, another walk-off! This has been another great day of games, and there's still two games left over in the AL.
Great win by my NATS Today. I went to the ass whipping first home playoff game since 1933 here...I should have gone today! Walkoff for Werth! Image Unavailable, Please Login
I was already asleep with the TV on... and learned about 2am from loud replays. You aren't kidding! Last night's dominant performance by Justin Verlander was nothing short of amazing to watch to seal the deal. The teams seem all very close this year! This is making for some great baseball to watch all around the league! The Curiosity in me wants to see the Tigers meet the Orioles
I learned that the hard way, when my Rangers played them the last three games of the regular season. But yes, Justins performance last night was incredible. I wouldn't be surprised if it was O's/Tigers in the ALCS. I'd love to see the O's knock the Yankees out.
I'm not really a baseball fan (love college football and NFL), but I always find myself watching MLB post-season every year...it is pretty good. The regular season imo doesn't really matter given the length except the last few weeks, but the post-season has never disappointed me. Always good ball. I wished the Orioles advanced, but I knew with their pitching it wouldn't happen. I won't feel as bad if the Yankees win it all so they can say they lost to the eventual champions...and took them to game 5 at that.
That was one of the best comebacks I have ever seen. The Nationals fans should learn the Cards never die...us Ranger fans know that all too well.
Being a Tigers fan and looking forward to game 1 tomorrow vs the Yankees, I didn't care who who won the NLDS game tonight. I just wanted to see a good game. Unreal! The Cards were facing a monumental challenge coming back from 6-0, no momentum, and the electric DC crowd. Well played & well deserved.
Epic meltdown by Nationals, or Cardinals a team of destiny? I can't decide. Regardless, the Giants are going to have their hands full next week, I think. Hopefully the adrenaline is still on tap.
Still not over last night, too many similarities to game 6 of last year, only difference being Descalso and Kozma played the role of David Freese this year!
