no affiliation to the car Is it just me or does the front hood and the headlight look off? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1995-Ferrari-F355-Spider-Convertible-40-Valve-V-8-6-Speed-Custom-26k-Miles-CA-/130745403056?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item1e710886b0
The front hood/headlights look a tiny bit off, but it may be the light and the weird paint job. The engine bay LOOKS filthy, but the photo also has an auto-applied filter on it to compensate for the disparity between the brightness of the sunlight and the darkness of the engine bay. Interior looks alright, though! EDIT: Just read the ad fully, salvage from front end collision. Chances are the hood and lights are actually off a bit.
There is definately a problem with the hood/headlights. After front end collision and things not lining up that is not great news. The engine bay is DIRTY! Holy cow it is dirty. I have never seen a 355 engine bay that dirty. An educated buyer would not go over $30k on that. With no mention of service beyond the clutch I would not go over $25k on that. The rims look great though.
I've seen this car in person as have a few of the central coast guys. It needs lots of TLC but for the right price who knows? The owner seemed like a nice enough guy but I only met him once last fall. If anyone is really interested I'd be happy to take a closer look but your assumptions on the pictures so far are correct regarding the hood and lights.
I was wondering if matt black or satin would look good on a 355, now I know the answer and I'll keep it to myself. You know how it goes "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."
Looks like a wrap to me to but the ad says it is paint. Either way it is not going to demand alot of cash. On the other hand there are alot of bottom feeders that can come up with $30k so it will sell to someone.
The headlights are way off. I don't know why people don't bother to knock a little bit of the dust off of the engine compartment. As others have pointed out, it looks terrible under the hood.
If the engine's in good nick then it might be worth it for a track car. 25k ...come on, what do you get for 25k these days, not even a GTI!
If the car wasn't in a front end dinger, I would say that someone left a slightly too tall suit case and tried to slam the bonnet shut. The hood looks sprung from headlight to headlight. I like projects, but I suspect the real stories about this car are longer than the ones on mine.
