Several stories lately of guys buying 348s and 355s and picking them up and driving cross-country. No problems, no towtrucks, no horror stories. Just glorious roadtrips in their new hotrods!
In all the runs through the canyons, interstate, and insane roadtrips I've done over the last 8 years with other guys in F-cars, I can remember only one wounded motor. At least a hundred runs with literally hundreds of cars over the years....at a hundred or more miles per hour.
Just goes to show....THESE CARS LOVE TO BE DRIVEN...A LOT!

No cross country but I have driven about 5k miles in the last 6 months and nothing has exploded. (knock on wood) And I'm not a pansy ass driver either, I push mine to the edge.

Stop looking at them and get out and drive.

I did 250 miles in one day to visit my parents in 90+ degree Texas heat. No problems, the A/C was even able to keep us cool. The car performs much better in that situation than a 10 mile trip in Houston traffic.

I wouldn't say "no problems" - mine blew the cigarette lighter fuse! Devastating! :)

No cross country in mine yet....

But after two years of sorting out all kinds of Gremlin's, I have managed 600 miles across the past two glorious Sunday afternoons....and 4,000 miles this summer alone.

    OMFG!!!!!!!!

Did you replace it with a NOS Ferrari fuse??? If not your car is worthless now and should probably be towed to the nearest F Dealer for proper repair.

    <sarcastic grin here>

All these cars need to be driven - long and hard. My best trip yet in my 348 - Maranello, Italy back to home in the UK - 1075 miles non stop in one day. Sort of planning another long trip. Ro-ro ferry to NY and then coast to coast. Just a thought. Perhaps we could get a convoy!

I drove the same amount of miles non-stop in my F355. Florida to Missouri. It was the very first day I owned and drove a Ferrari. My father came along for the trip. 11 hours straight. I'll never forget it.

I have driven from Austin Tx to 4-corners (in 100 dF temps)
I have driven from Austin to WV in 2 inches per hour rainfall for 2 days.
    No problems either trip.
I have put 45K miles and 5K race track miles on my F355 in 12 years under my ownership.

I drove across America with the top down in a 348 Spider. No problems, except ever since then my life seems a little less spectacular. Nothing compares to that feeling... and like a junkie I eagerly await my next hit!!!

I think I have put close to 2000 miles on mine since July. The triple seals started leaking.... Fixed that but now there is a slight oil leak but not worrying till I pull the motor. I just keep on driving it.

My wife and I flew to Vegas, picked up the car and drove it back to Tucson. Then proceeded to put 3.5k miles on it that same year. They are made to be driven.
