We are going to throw a little party Saturday Feb 16th to celebrate Enzo Ferrari's 115th birthday. We will have cake and refreshments, some party favors, specials in the parts department and we will try to get some of the special cars out of the basement for the event. If we have enough Ferraris show up, we might be able to manage an impromptu concours. We will kick things off at 10:00 and continue until noon or so. We hope to see you here. Is this event only for owners? Are are fans welcome as well? I was going to come down to Atlanta this Saturday and I would love to drop by.
I have been waiting to see the basement cars since last year. Sadly I will be out of town. I cant win.
We are busy getting ready for tomorrow. The guests of honor will be the last car developed during Mr. Ferrari's lifetime and the car named in his honor. Our specials in the parts department include a 15% discount on any merchandise which carries the Ferrari name or logo which is not already on sale. There is a small chance of snow but don't let that keep you away. We will have designated Ferrari parking in front of the dealership so drive your cars. In fact, the first 5 people who can come up to the parts counter and tell me what significance snowfall on Mr. Ferraris birthday has will get a special gift.
O yees i was thinking about the same stuff,it had a huge significance....i bet not too many people know..i almost share the birthday with Mr Enzo and based on what my parents told me same thing happend to them too when i was born (driffting mode activated....lol)
We had a fantastic time this morning visiting with some old friends and meeting some new ones. Thank you for taking time to honor Mr. Ferrari's birthday with us. Hopefully, we will have an addition to our super car stable next year for you to see and enjoy.
That was a really fun event, thanks a million for putting it on! GREAT JOB! It was great seeing everyone. Lets see the sunglasses pics!!
That's a lot of "Enzos"! (And I was one of them.) We gave Jack Dowling (who's front and center) the unofficial "lookalike" award. (I told Jack that since he owns a car named for Enzo's son (Dino), now he needs one named for the Old Man to complete his collection!)
Outside the building, we had a variety of Ferraris coming and going all day. Hiawassee thawed out long enough for John to bring his lovely 550 down, and it found itself in a "328 sandwich" for a while. Jack got place of honor to park his delectable Dino (right underneath the "Ferrari" sign), and later some bulls arrived to see what the horses were up to. Inside, we had a great spread of cheeses, crackers, finger foods and desserts. (Thank you, guys!) Note the photos at the left end; apparently Enzo, himself, enjoying a birthday party in a past year. The cake had a pretty good reproduction of Enzo's signature, appropriately enough in purple icing! As you've probably figured out by now, the F40 and Enzo had the floor (literally), and I'll have more photos of both of them a bit later. Well it was a fun, cold, day. And believe it or not I did run into snow on the way home. By the time I hit Helen, I could see it, a snow Squaw. Seems like every time "They" predict 20%, it seems to hit Hiawassee. 2 weeks ago, I was snowed out from going down to the C&O. It is hard to believe that I live only about 89 miles from FOA. Oh... this is funny, and Happened before most people got there. I wish more had seen this. Even I just heard about it. Suzanne, my sister, was going to put her jacket out in her car, and I said "Just put it in my car you will see some buttons on the dash and push it." You may see the problem, two cars of about the same color, I hear later that Suzanne got into the 360 instead of the 550. The 360 belongs to Andy, and he said "I was wondering what this woman was doing in my car." And, Suzanne said " I got in the car and didn't see any sort of button the dash to open the trunk." Then it hit, it was not MY Car she was inside of, sitting in, looking around for a button to "pop" the trunk. They were , at the time, the only two Cars out there. I just wish I would have seen it. Andy saw it ,and Suzanne experienced it. Dang.............. one in a lifetime...... and I miss it. Image Unavailable, Please Login
