Ed, sorry I can't help with the color name, but the car looks good. I agree with your decision re: Boxer paint.

Is your car a Euro with US fender markers, or a US version with Euro bumpers?

    Jack.

Looks like "Rosso Chiaro" from Glidden Salchi which was the red preceeding "Rosso Corsa" from Glasurit that came around 1980.
There were (according Keith Bluemels V8 book) only two red solid colors available for the GT4 and early GTB/S's, "Rosso Chiaro" and "Rosso Dino" that is almost orange.

Rosso Chiaro appears quite a lot darker than Rosso Corsa when compared, as in this example of early 308 in Rosso Chiaro beeing fitted with a spoiler in Rosso Corsa.

Yes, thank you, it does appear to be rosso chiaro (clear red, if I interpret correctly). To answer the question, US model. It's on Craig's List now.

Those are interesting wheel lifts/jacks, what are they? I see a line running to the driver side one, is it hydraulic or pneumatic?

    Ed,

"Chiaro" in Italian is the same as "clair" in French, but the correct translation in English is not "clear" but "light": "Rosso Chiaro" = "light red". The opposite of "Chiaro" is "Scuro", which means "dark".

They seem widely available in the UK, not so much in the US. Here they are in operation:

We have a 1978 308 GTS. Its color is Rosso Chiaro and we have a decal that says that. It appears the same, but if you order it for GT4's just ask for Rosso Chiaro & without looking at the number on the car, we think it is 190.
