Is it me or is the steering wheel bigger than normal? http://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/264433_10152781413085284_1702180251_n.jpg
Limited production? On page 176 of the official Ferrari Magazine, issue #20, bottom right, third last sentence, Antonio Ghini of the factory in his article about LaFerrari writes "there are only 999 LaFerrari planned". (Nine hundred and ninety nine). Marcel Massini
This story sticks to the 499 number and claims they are sold out. Also has interesting anecdote about the original choice of engine: http://europe.autonews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20130506/ANE/130439999/the-making-of-laferrari#axzz2SYZJrDrq
Interesting read indeed. It p****s me off, though, that we don't have an official weight figure yet. Marcel, 999 must be a typo???

The LaFerrari 3 days ago... Ferrari LaFerrari in test on the road ( and track), WHAT A SOUND !!!!!! - YouTube
I was told by someone who should know that apparently there is not a full production car yet finished, hence why we keep on seeing videos of mules still running about.
Makes sense, along with the fact that there's not an official weight figure yet and just about two cars showing around the globe.
With my friend Sebastien ( '' sellerie cimes ", author of the video just above ) , we saw at least 5 LaFerrari on the road, around the factory, two weeks ago, and only one was a real " Laferrari " , with no protection, and not a proto. Five protos in two days !!! each proto had a special different things... I'm wondering, at the time of the Enzo elaboration, if the factory used to test a lot of protos like this, AFTER the official presentation...
I can imagine they continue testing the prototypes (technical identical to the La Ferrari) to fine tune set-up and so on. They don't need production examples to do that. For me it only adds to the excitement of being in Maranello to see those mules driving around and will be even better to see the first production cars... Gr. Martin
Really cool article on the LaFerrari in the June issue of Spark magazine. You can only get it on iPad but it's well worth a read https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/spark/id586845940?mt=8
