    Had lots of fun rowing the 6 speed following Vraiment and Chrigel. But boy i swear there must have been a couple of super "monster truck" professional drivers out that were using the whole road to keep pace. We definitely bring out the aggressive nature in many around us.

    Great catching up with the usual suspects and meeting some new drivers.

    What a drive today. It was a big one, and by far, one of the best. Thanks to everyone who came out and made it such a great day! Glad we beat the heat -- it was only 116 degrees when I reached Novato.

    For those of you who missed the Turn 1 Club event, I have to say it was so good it was almost obscene. If you like track time you would have been a pig in mud on Thursday. It started out that there were a whopping three cars on the track for the first half hour session. But after that one driver opted to move to the autocross training. So two of us were left with the entire Sonoma Raceway to ourselves. There was more track and more track time, then we knew what to do with. The Turn 1 concept is premium track days -- no schlepping lawn chairs around the paddock. Whether you are doing autocross, lead-follow, or open tracking, after your session you retreat to the air conditioned club house where you can either grab refreshments, lunch, try your hand at a couple of simulators, or just take a nap (as I did). Or you can sit out on the patio with chairs literally sitting spitting distance from Turn 1. I've never been this close to the track action or had such a perspective. The crew at Turn 1 are all real pros -- not volunteers who want to help out but seasoned pros with real race time who have a good deal of very useful advice to share. They will coach you from afar -- by radio, or in car, as your passenger. It matters not what your level of experience is -- these guys provide in classroom instruction, paddock skills development, and finally on track training, from novice to highly advanced. The plan is to offer 12 premium events each year. Let me know if you want anymore information.
