    My absolute favorite ferrari pics are those such as these; rustled hair, a bit dirty, signs of well maintained hard use. It's like seeing a lion in the wild.

    Pictures on post 4964 do not show the same bonnet, look at the riveted extensions around the radiator opening on the bonnet on the second picture that the first do not show and also the shape of the top of the mouth straight on the first picture and curved on the second.
    Regarding post 4974, Jim, I am not sure that transponders were in use in the sixties, to my knowledge they started to use them in motor racing in the eighties. I think that the parts Bruno is talking about are fixations they made for additional lights Ferrari intended to use but did not use for the race, I think that you can even see the electrical cable on the left of the left top opening on the picture in 4973 post.

    Second picture on post 4964 shows 1966 P3 spyder at a time preceeding the Targa Florio race. After the accident at the Targa Florio, the front bonnet was modified with the top of the mouth being straight as on the coupe.

    They could be for extra lights but the first use of transponders I know of for lap timing was at Le Mans in 1967 (not by the teams but by the organizers using IBM equipment). They were definitely fit into the side vents near the rear.
