Does anyone know what the 288 GTO in the Gooding auction in Scottsdale sold for today? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Joe, note the wastegate. I've seen the boost pressure adjustment bolt on some (very few) wastegates and not on others. You could tighten this bolt and increase the pressure on the spring to create more boost. I take it that this was someone down the line purchasing the adjustable one from Mahle and replacing the original, non-adjustable one? Not sure if it was a trend or a popular modification in the late 80's or what? Curious. Hope all is well with you and your family, Chad PS: My book arrived, nice work!
Chad, if anything, the trend is towards keeping the cars as they left Maranello, and this showed in what was bid on this car. Glad you got the book at last!!
Received my 288 GTO book yesterday and appreciate the work you did. Also have the Miura book which is also a great accomplishment. Hopefully your next project will the F40. Thanks again for your effort.
Thank you very much Paul, I appreciate your kind words, especially because authoring books is not even my business, per se! Its a side-thing, a hobby if you like, and Ive only managed to publish those 2 books by some serious burning of the midnight oil! That said, I did it because I felt the material had to be shared. The 288 GTO book has been surprisingly successful, due to the interest by many people here, and elsewhere. For that, I'm very thankful. Best,
It arrived last week but forgot to post it (I ordered 2). It took 1 year and 1 week since I ordered from amazon.com, but I KNOW IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT! Thank you for such a great book Joe! Image Unavailable, Please Login
