I guess all the 330 GT 2+2 Series 2 owners should jump and sing songs about how their cars are now worth 500K. I'm not sure how much it costs to have a car fully restored at Ferrari Classiche but I'd bet it may exceed 150K to 200K depending on the extent of the work that was done to the car. I've seen ads as earlier this year for 250K to 300K for a 330GT 2+2 for a good 'driver'. Perhaps the 500K may makes some sense. I'm sure Ferrari made the car flawless.

I recently saved three 250 GTEs from getting chopped up into GTO/TR/Calspiders. There are still shops in the UK and Italy paying good money for 250 GTEs to convert them. Let's hope they turn their talents into restoring these classics to their original glory.

Actually, I've never been happy that Ferraris were so expensive.

The distributor on a 330 is the same as on earlier super expensive cars so they cost a lot.
The horns are the same as on earlier super expensive cars so they cost a lot.
An old clock for the dash costs $1,000.
Any little part costs a lot.

Now that the prices of the cars themselves have increased by a factor of 6 or some such number in
the last 15 years, that also means that their insurance has also increased.

It's less fun to drive a really expensive car (if you are not rich) than a cheaper car.

I suppose you could sell it and make a lot of money, but if you have spent hundreds of
hours working on it, you kind of develop a bond with the car and do not want to let it go.

As I noted about the positions of the horns in a earlier post, Ferrari got that wrong.
So one wonders what else they got wrong. I'm not sure how much they know about their own old cars.
Enzo just wanted them all destroyed.

I had the relative kerb weights as 1406 kg GTE and 1550 kg 330 GT, that's 22 stone plus (for us Brits) which is significant. The manual for the GTE has "weight empty" as 1310 kg.
Anybody know what it says in the 330 GT manual ?

From the 1964 330 GT manual. 1380KG empty with water, oil and spare wheel. Fully laden weight with fuel and fittings = 1762KG. Carrying capacity 4 people.

Three screaming while driver having so much fun!
The brakes were not so good - never sure which side it would go. Must have caused so many bad crashes.

I own a 330 gt 2+2. Interim 4hl To me the series 2 just sold in monaco looked like a very very very nice example. As someone else said I bet it is in perfect condition. So the price simply reflects how the market will pay for fantastic restorations.
