Hi Folks Im redoing my leather with Liquid Leather, Glipetone. Cant figure out how to remove the console for the handbrake for spraying. Ive removed the two screws only thing thats stopping it coming out is the surround for the rear boot leaver. Any ideas or links would be appreciated. Thanks
Yes. Pull up the boot release lever and remove the screw under it. Once you remove that bezel piece you will see a final screw under that. That is the last one that is holding the console down.
Ah thats great easy when you know how. My next problem is removing the cable. I undid the small brass screw which goes through the eyelet at the end of the cable at the lever end, but the cable has been fed through a small hole in the housing of the boot release latch . How did you get round this problem??
The lazy way that we all do (without removing the whole cable from the other end) is to cut a small slot in the housing that the cable goes through. Just big enough for the inner cable to pass through. It doesn't affect things when it is put back together. The slot leads from the bottom of the housing to the hole that the cable is going through. Clear? Rick
Yea loud an clear Rick Thought about that but thought it was a bit drastic but needs must i guess. Dosnt seem to bad now i know its been done before by other chatters. Cheers Johnny
