What would be the best book to acquire on the history of the 206 / 246?
In all fairness, there are more, but two stand out: "Dino, Le Altre Ferrari" by Jean Pierre Gabriel. (I believe both in French and Italian) "Dino, The Little Ferrari" by Doug Nye. Matthias's great book is the 'Bible' for restorers and possibly most owners, and extremely specific. The other two, are more historical, less specific, and not as readily available at cover prices. If you own the three books, I think you are 'there'... Regards, Alberto
Agreed, these are a great selection. J.P. Gabriel's book is available in German also, it covers alot more than just the Ferrari Dino - Stratos, sports cars and Fiat also with many blueprints and development information. I like this one alot. Mr Nye's book has an excellent and complete racing history through the incredible variations of Dino engines from F1 through all the sports cars with many photos. If you're just interested in Ferrari Dino road cars the compendium is the best, great depth and images. There are many other books or chapters on the Dino, some have specific sections that complement the material in these books. I'd also get the road test book, it's cheap and some good photos from when the cars were new.
your book will be shipped today.... if you have any additional questions feel free to send me an e-mail, I´m happy to help regards Matthias
Matthias, I very much look forward to receiving and studying it. Along with my current restored '74 GTS, I have been considering a restoration project of a GT. Truly a remarkable car and timeless design.
Matthias, I received the book today. I flipped through it quickly and am extremely impressed! I can not wait to dive into it. Thanks for your efforts in putting this together. Best, Chris
Just ordered your book Matthias. Looking forward to receiving it. Congratulations on such a well researched and beautifully produced book.
