Thanks so much for the compliments. While I had the starburst wheels shown in the blue picture, I thought the car looked better in red, without the bumpers, and with the Borrani wires. It was extensively used as shown on the back roads of the San Francisco peninsula. Sadly the collector value superseded that option or it would still be here. Very fun car.
I believe they originally were not a temp resistant paint. So far heard of black, white and nothing. I guess the top end would be quite hot.
Warren: I believe you have the correct three options. In 1966, the high temp exhaust paints were just first beginning to appear. I suspect that either "nothing" or a coat of normal black paint (that burned off quickly) was original. I have photos of a 4 Cam on the production line with White VHT headers that was done for the owner as a $25 option.
This photo was taken at the Scarsdale Concours in October 2013. Does it belong to a local owner? Image Unavailable, Please Login
There are at least four cities with the name Scarsdale on the planet. I assume you mean Scarsdale, NY/USA? Or Scarsdale in Louisiana? Or the one in Africa or Australia? Any photo showing the rear of the car with a license plate? That would help with the identification. It appears to be an alloy bodied car (extended rain gutter). Marcel Massini
1964 275 GTB of Massimo and Nereo Iori. 2013 Scarsdale NY Concours entrant 2012 Greenwich CT Concours entrant etc. To the question at hand, I don't know the c/n.
Thanks for the quick replies. As Dave knew, it was in Scarsdale, NY that I photographed this car. The annual car show in Scarsdale is usually a good opportunity to view some of these beautiful machines up close, but there were no 275's at this year's event. Hopefully, next year will see a more plentiful turnout. Standing next to a car like this, I can feel that I am in the presence of automotive excellence.
One of my favorite frames from this fall. Gorgeous blue 4 cam surrounded by a 212 & 330 GTS. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Totally agree with you. I hate black too. But wow is this nice. I must admit there is something so elegant about this car in black. Superb!
Been through all 24 pages of this thread but can find no trace of ROW275 here, the UK authorities have it as built in '68 and first registered here on 3rd Dec 2004. Wondering if anybody knows anything about the car seen in the photo below at Silverstone Classic ? Image Unavailable, Please Login
