Story in Detroit paper on David Lee, LA area Ferrari collector

    Collector rolls with his Ferraris

says he bought one Ferrari from the Petersen Museum. Was there an auction where they sold cars, or do they publish a list of cars for sale? Does anyone know which car it was and what year he bought it?
The story names several he owns, including a 275GTB and a 288GTO. I'd like to know what the museum sold it for and what year but maybe if they are not taxpayer supported museum they don't have to publish those figures..

As a side, Petersen have caught flack for selling off some of their cars in the past. They claim to be a museum but buy and sell for profit.(plus some of their cars it was revealed by a whistle blower, aren't exactly what they claim to be provenance wise) A museum typically isn't supposed to be profiting off of their collection. Not sure which one it was he bought? Similar article appeared last week in the LA Times here: Touring the private Ferrari collection of David Lee - LA Times

..I suspect the vil hand of a PR man

In the Petersen's defense, they periodically have to unload many ordinary cars donated, say like a 1960 Corvair,or they would be swamped with them.
