Was thing of getting a new exhaust. I have headers now but wanted a more F1 sound with the option to close valves. I mostly keep them open on my current set up. When they are open is air going through the mufflers? If not then is it pointless to spend money on a muffler setup or just get new cat or test pipes?

Still go through mufflers but takes a shortcut in basic terms. It bypasses half of the muffler to produce a more aggressive sound.

Believe me, you'll know when it's not passing through the mufflers. It will be stupid loud. Like Harley Davidson bike with modified exhaust type of loud. :)

ok, thanks. Just wondering what I should do, not get a muffler or get new cats. maybe go with test pipes. What the main difference in sound and performance?

Many options with exhaust but test pipe makes any modified exhaust sound better. Not too much on performance unless you flash the ECU.

The factory race exhaust bypasses the muffler when the valves are open. It sounds amazing.

Just get a remote exhaust bypass valve controller. It's all the sound you need.

You mean other than the standard exhaust valve control switch on the floor to the right of the brake pedal? That's the one I use.

Sure. That will work too but only at speed or load. Open valves make the car sing at any rpm regardless of speed. Nice when cruising through a town or village with buildings on either side of you and the top down. Intoxicating sound :)

My bad, I thought the question was about a 360.

What better test pipes or cats? How much louder are they any advantages over each. Looking for a good F1 sound without being obnoxious, maybe a little.
