Ah but you'll always have the memories!

As do I, in fact, I still have the original chassis ID plate and engine crankshaft from 4870 in my office to remember it by. I also still remember what Bob Wallace told me about the original crank when I took him the engine to rebuild. He used one word...

The sale was the biggest car mistake I made, and after it I made many others. I had a collection at the time (I was putting a vintage Lambo museum together). I kept the cars in a hanger with a plane and didn't have a full time mechanic. So whoever I'd go out there I had issues with one of the cars. and I just got jaded and then frustrated. The market had been flat forever. I was always getting calls about 4870 and then I got what at the time was a world record price for a Lamborghini and double the price of any Muira. I always wanted a green Muira, and I also wanted to race a season in the Ferrari Challenge. So I sold it, bought and restored a green Muira, and then bought a new Ferrari challenge car and went racing. With the balance I also bought a new scuderia, which turned out to be the biggest loss I ever had on a car. I thought I had timed the market, which I of course did not. If I had needed the money I wouldn't look back. I didn't and it was just plain dumb.

As I started to really get into Ferrari challenge racing (and founded CCR) I eventually sold most of the other cars. When I sold the rest do them, I timed the market perfectly. The bottom.

I did have a great deal of fun with the the car. I will wager that I had more beautiful models in that car than at any time in its colorful life. Including the one who, at the end of the evening commented on the coolest camaro she'd ever been in.
