High HP, inexperienced driver = uh oh. My GF's son bragged to me yesterday that he had 6 years of driving experience.
Well, that car may be offered at a discount then! All of you souls waiting for your allocations can jump the line and pick up this beauty for a song!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So it appears he was joy riding then. What dealer would give a 22 year old a demo car without riding along?
A 22 year old with money who has bought cars there before. Justin Bieber is 21. Do you think his dealer would refuse him a test drive? Greed displaces common sense regularly.
Come on, you were in the car business. Never heard of a dealer stretching some rules and ignoring common sense to make a sale? If in fact this kid was their customer he was a whale and they will do nothing to piss him off.
Getting a dealer demo isn't all too hard. At least here in California. I would assume he has to pay for damages. let's hope he is the customer then. Even while racing with others on the autobahn or wherever it is just stupid to go over the limit to that level that you loose control like this. know your limits when driving
This is the same problem porsche had with their earlier 911 turbos. With rear wheel drive only and so much turbo power too many owners were wrapping themselves around trees. Their solution was to make all 911 turbo models awd. I suspect many drivers will have trouble handling 670 hp from the rear wheels only especially when that power is delivered with turbos. That makes the 488 some thing like a Gt2, a hell of a scary and dangerous car to drive if you don't know what you are doing.
The 911 is inherently wrong with its engine placement and shot wheelbase. The 488 on the other hand is said to be bery manageable, even easier than the 458, albeit faster. Of course things get out of hand easily with so much firepower under one's foot.
There's no laws prohibiting him from driving this demo car. He's older than 18, he has a license for a manual - it's legal.
