yawn the biggest risk with buying your car is the history that it will be burdened with by your ownership.
Exactly my point e.g. a gold ring could be priceless to an individual because of, say, sentimental value, even though that ring's market price will only ever be determined by its gold content. Price is objective whereas value is subjective. Obviously this also applies to cars etc.
I think it's splitting hairs, tbh. The reality is, we're talking about cars and, except in very unusual circumstances (which I have never witnessed with cars btw), the value AND price is the same if the car changes hands. As I already said, I'm not talking ASKING price, but the ACTUAL price. Of course that theory falls in a hole if, like with grigio, a car is sold for significantly less than market value. In some cases it's hard to determine, but enough 308s have sold to give a good indication of value/price/cost (call it what you like)...which was also the case a few years ago when the discussion was posted on here with myfazzman
Yep. I see the same 308 GTS's on pistonheads month after month with 60-70K sterling price tags. And that is in the hottest 308 market in the world. Vintage is quite niche here in Australia, aussie muscle cars excluded. I don't see too many arbitrage opportunities do you? Oh, I see that white aussie del 308 GTS Qv bought from CTS late last year or beg of this year for $A 150 k for sale at 109K sterling. Been there for quite a while despite it being 14K miles and rust free.
Yes. It was in the showroom when i was there on Saturday. Probably didn't have the chance to update their website. Interesting car. Very nice colour combo with the Oz delivered chrome mirror.
do you have a point, or are you still trying to compare asking price with value compared to future value? L.O.L.
Oh sigh......poor comprehension skills.....current value of anything of value reflects its future value.......read any definition of an asset and it includes the term "future economic benefits". Dingbat! And please quote me correctly......not incorrectly paraphrase. Very tawdry tactics and unbecoming of someone of your reputed intelligence.
Sigh! FV is Future Value PV is Present Value GG is Horse PeePee is KK. Enjoy your lunch on Wednesday. I can't make it.
