My car (see above) is an Auto, and I love it anyway. The base 635 is not a fast car, but it is a great tourer. Nice for taking trips and long drives. The auto isn't the best thing about it, but it's OK. Plus, the swap ain't that hard to do, if you felt inclined.... Or so I've read....

Not hard at all, I've done a couple swaps actually on E12's ('70's 5-series) from auto to manual, long ago in place far far away :).

I've owned nearly a dozen BMW's over the yrs, my favorite was an M535, really miss that one. BMW straight sixes are smooooooooth with lots of torque.

I am confused with FedEx shipping. Purchased a new headlight control module from Turner Motorsports located in Florida (they have been great and saved me $400+) but why is FedEx shipping my order to Hutchins, TX (just south of "Get down Dallas") when I-10 is a straight shot?

    Not angry just "WTH"!

"Hay" (that's how a real Texan spells it...lol) but guess what?

Changed the ballast yesterday after struggling with removing the headlight (PITA) but the low and high beam still did not work but flashed so I knew something was noticed. So anyway I was gonna try swapping ballast from the passengers side, the side that works, to the drivers side but decided to check one more time....damn thing works now!!!!!!!

    Crazy stuff I tell ya.

The celebration for BMW will last all year! It has already started as BMW's 100th Anniversary was recognized with a display at Amelia Island. And of course they will be one of the featured Marques Pebble Beach, and The featured Marque at the Monterey Motorsports Reunion.

It should be quite a time on the Peninsula!

A number of Z 8 owners are getting together in Monterey. We did it in 08 and had a great time. Lot's of respect shown to the car.

I heard about that 08 gathering. Think a couple of Z8 friends from this area may be joining in on that! Great cars!

was looking at bmw 2002's online. seems that they're still priced reasonably. maybe we should buy a couple, make some internet videos and see if we can double their price?

No disrespect meant to your friend, but the engine looks better than the car.

Well, I just joined the ranks here with an M235i. My parents had a 5 sedan and a 3 series wagon, and as a result I've been a Beamer fan for a while. I have always thought the E46 M3 is one of the most balanced and beautiful designs ever. Anyway, so far, I love the 235! Fantastic engine, great turn in, plenty of features but not overdone. While I wouldn't put it up against a Cayman in terms of feel and handling, it's a stout performer and far more versatile than other similar cars. Only drawback is that it's an auto (well, steering is a bit numb), but it's honestly not bad at all. It IS a daily after all, so I can row my own in the P car and F car and not lose anything there :) Anyway, I'm happy to have my first BMW, and I'm thinking I'll probably have this one for a while!

Just purchased a black 2014 F30 (a month ago) and I was thinking on adding a clear bra. I was quoted approx $700 for a portion of the hood, bumper and I think the mirrors. Is for the Xpel film. Any recommendation instead of the Xpel? They carry 3M as well. Thanks.

None taken. Its definitely not for everyone but not many people in their early 20s can say they built a full tube frame group 5 car in a garage with some friends.

The one and only! We started the motor for the first time yesterday. It gets broken in and tuned really soon!
