its an old trick. Buy a damaged car, tear the damaged panels off and bang a few chassis parts straight and run it back through an Auction, make a few $k

Excuse my ignorance, but as a '97 model, I would've thought it had the updated engine?

 

Not sure when in the changeover was to Motronic 5.2 ( early 97?) but the Challenge rules stipulated that all the F355's must have Motronic 2.7, so if you bought a late car ( say a '98) then you'd also need to change the induction system and engine ecu to be series eligible.

Yes. But they don't produce more power.

Unless they have been hot-rodded, of course.

Real 355CHs have MOTEC so that they DO produce more power !!
