I have a friend looking. Let me know. Thanks
George, if your friend is looking for the original QV 16" it's going to be tough and expensive but if he doesn't mind the reproduction, they are available.
That is VERY true, they are hard to find and have gotten expensive. I sold a set of Four OEM staggered 16 inch wheels back at the beginning of spring this year for $8000. I bet a complete set now is around $9k-$10k easily.
$1,428 for the set.. ferrari reproduced them, I have a new set.. there 16 inch and dead on same NO ferrari wording. Benefit, can use ANY tire. If interested in purchasing please email me [email protected] Regards, Mike
Odd that Ferrari would go to the trouble & expense of making a batch of wheels and not put their name on them. They, more than anyone of the planet know the value of marketing anything with the word Ferrari, on it. Any idea who cast those wheels for Ferrari, and what year were they made?
Hello All, Having hard time attaching the photos for the 308 QV wheels. Please email and I will send: [email protected] These are reproductions not origional Ferrari, sorry for confusion. They are made in Italy. Regards, Mike
I've got a 16x7 front wheel still kicking around from a set I sold off individually, if anybody is looking for a single. I've also got a single Superformance repro and a single 14", but I'd be surprised if anybody cared about those.
I bought a set of OEM QV wheels in 2014 for $4000 when I purchased my car, and have literally seen TWO sets available since then. I'm amazed to hear they're up to $8k now. Wow!
I've one 7Jx16 OEM front rim in reserve, but I would not sell it, given that I might need it once myself and that it is almost impossible to find one in reasonnable time...
Wow!!! Really?!?! I have a 16" set off mine that I believe are magnesium (did the vinegar test). I was just about to look into refinishing them. That's nuts if they are going for that much.
Yes, those are Mondial wheels, where the inner lip around the five star points is flush with the face of the rim. 308 wheels have the same star pattern, but the pattern area is recessed about 1.5" inward away from the outer face of the wheel, for a relatively deep-dish look. Mondial wheels are worth only a small fraction of what 16" 308 wheels go for.
Hi George, I'll soon be selling a nice set of OEM 16 inch wheels for the 308QV. They have the Ferrari part numbers cast on the backs (120926 fronts and 120927 rears) and they are the Tecnomagnesio variety, which was the successor to Campagnolo I think in the early 1980's. They are made in Italy and are the real deal. I should have them back from the refinishers in a couple weeks, so please let me know if your friend is still interested and I'll post photos as soon as I can. Thanks, Jeff
You probably already thought of it, but when buying used wheels, make sure there is a clear understanding with the seller that you only want wheels that will balance properly. (unless they are being sold for wall art, or coffee tables). I sell wheels from time to time, before they are advertised, I take them to my local tire shop. We put them on the balance machine and check for run out/trueness, and how much wheel weight the wheel will need to balance. I've had some wheels that LOOKED really nice, but not good at all on the wheel balancer machine. Those are sold as garage art. With old wheels, no telling how many potholes/parking lot speed bumps/ rough railroad crossings they have been across.
