Where's the best place to buy used Patek or Lange watches?

The chrono24 website is good for sanity checking pricing. Chrono 24 aggregates listings from many sellers around the world. As such I would apply the usual due diligence to any unfamiliar seller you use there.

Not sure one experience with a particular seller on an aggregator site means the whole entire website is pure bait and switch does it? I am quite sure you can find that watch from a different seller on that site at a good (maybe even great) price.

I have found many nice watches for sale there that were available. The only difficulty I have had is that sellers are located all around the world which introduces a logistics issue.

My good experiences there, though, doesn't change the reality that the site is an aggregates so each case is specific. Kind of like eBay in that way. One good/ bad experience on ebay has no bearing on the next experience.

The best prices are at Watch Expo in Newport Beach , California. I just bought my last patek philippe from these guys.

I bought my Lange 1815 Up and Down and Lange 1 from Feelgoodwatches. One slightly used and one new in box, both very good prices and no issues with the transaction.

look up takuya watches. very active member on rolex forum. i have bought and sold a bunch of pateks, panerais, and rolexes with him. face to face deal in houston or via net. very legit and stand up guy.

 

I have never bought from him, but he posts some great watches, and they always seem to be at a very fair price.

 

Lange is my favorite brand by a large margin. Glashuette Original and Breguet round out my top 3. That said, JLC and Patek are spectacular. I'd always recommend Lange if it's an option.

I like simple wares and the Lange 1815, imo, is perfect. Here is my platinum 1815 (bad pic, watch not damaged)

The other is DavidSW watches. He can be found on all the big watch boards and has his own site.

David is one of the best and highly respected indie dealers. I have completed many Rolex and Patek deals with David over the years.
