What's wholesale on it?
Where are all those stick naysayers now. All those people who said ferrari couldnt sell a stick, that paddles were progress and stick dead.
Paddles are way better than a stick. I personally don't want to take my hands off the wheel while driving down a country road or on the track. I too used to be a stickler for sticks until I bought a car with a proper race-like gearbox. This 911R is too bulky and too heavy to carry that R moniker. I predict that I will be able to buy one for €200.000 before the end of 2018. The thing is and had always been a big Volkswagen Beetle. I will treat it as one.
No idea at this time but my dealer bought 2 cars a month ago at $250k premium over MSRP. ....and sold them already with $50k profit on each.
Because people like the think they have something special and will pay for it. People are convincing themselves the the 911R is the best sports car in the world and only they have on. Even when the .2 GT3 with a manual destroys the R in every way, the R crowd will think of emotional reasons to say otherwise.
Why waste your money on an R if thats what you think? I would buy a ferrari so you don't have that "beetle" stigma hanging over your purchase.
You are right. I also think that my New Beetle convertible (bought used for very little money) looks better than any current Porsche, 918 included. No car available today, except perhaps Mclaren's new cars, exudes more class than my Beetle. It is like a small Porsche. I would like to own a proper Porsche one day though. One day... 200.000? I must have meant 20.000. The 911 R isn't worth a penny more than the price of a nice Lotus Elise. Actually, that's an obscene amount of money to spend on any car from Porsche. You can buy a nice little house in the mountains for that kind of money with enough left for a nice used Elise.
Glad, I saved you some money! Now that we have established that the R or the 918 are not styled to your personal tastes, is it even worth your time to comment about something you have no interest in.
I like the R, I really do. Purity of the line, sans any large spoilers, 500 horses and a lot of retro stuff. Is it worth $500k to me? I could perhaps just get the new GT3, put a rear diffuser and remove the wing I do not like and save a bundle. Or I could spend the $500k since I cannot get one at sticker but for that money it doesn't do anything for me like a Ferrari does. Would be interesting though for $500k, if someone could say if the R or Singer were the better choice.
Because it has an R on the back. Like the RS. Those letter command a premium and they always will, regardless of how the GT3 performs.
I don't get it honestly. People are asking as much for this car as a Carrera GT. That choice is a no brainer.
It the long run these settle just slightly above the latest GT3 RS, and that's where I will buy mine. In the meantime, there are plenty of great cars with which to enter corners sideways.
Appears $500k is not even the price point now.......Miller Motorcars wants $600k!!..... 2016 Porsche 911 R 911 R Stock # 7092C for sale near Greenwich, CT | CT Porsche Dealer For Sale in Greenwich, CT 7092C | Miller Motorcars
I think whoever spec'd that car will not be receiving the crazy premium. To me the stripe, seats, and flywheel are absolute necessities. Robb
I thought this car was supposed to be a bare-bones statement. There are so many non-essential options in the Miller car, the car essentially disqualifies itself.
