If the car was rebuilt then the insurance company wrote the car off and paid out the customer.I can't see the insurance company paying a guy out on a Ferrari for a 15K repair.I think if you dig into the car you will find out the damage was a lot more.Insurance company's are not stupid.

 

Not necessarily relating to the salvage portion, but what about rules regarding US vehicles (as this was) re-entering the US? Or is that only if US registration is still valid, and other than that it's still a "new import" (but salvage, so possible issues)?

Make's no difference now ,the car is titled in Canada so it's a new import.But one good thing for U.S customers is that if a car was org sold new in the U.S and is coming back into the U.S <non rebuilt> you can apply to get your duties back since the tax's were already paid when new.

 

I do still have it but i would never sell it..lol
