I have seen good cars and good deals go thru BaT for sure. I purchased a 993 with low miles last year from this site. I got a decent deal for it.

The seller on this one is a Dealer so I am sure there is a reserve north of $120-130k?

I saw this car in person a few months ago at this dealer. I wasn't interested in it: I was there to inspect and test drive another vehicle.

I sat in this vehicle (I can attest to its excellent condition at-first-sight) but didn't spend more than a few minutes walking around it. I could swear the dealership owner told me this 550 was there on consignment - however things may have changed, who knows.

That's funny. I didn't even know such an aftermarket part existed or was even necessary.

Euro spec 550s are happier because they can run much faster (in Europe). That exercise actually MAKE them faster too. Especially now when they have reached a mid-life crisis age and weekly exercise become more and more important. I am uncertain on a Euro-spec car located in USA, but it would definately have the right DNA, and its first years of adolescence makes it interesting. Has for sure some good memoreres from its first years from 160 mph. cruising speeds and bursts up sniffing on the 200 mph. mark. Or should I say 320 kph...... 😃😃

And I think that an F-Chatter is bidding on the car as well... :)

It was, by a couple - BB55 and Philly. It was bought by BB55 from ebay when it had Barchetta modulars and a full Novitec body kit. After that it was owned by user Philly who had it in the classifieds here last year.

    i thought it was BB55.....

he sold it to philly that traded it in ?

me thinks this dealer got left holding the bag (market $$ wise)

just like the dealer with the blue euro cats exotics 550

I seem to recall BB55 getting it really cheap when it was on eBay. Not sure about Philly, but I'm 99% sure they both had it. I seem to recall some posts here about the time Novitec stuff and the modulars were removed but can't find them.

I think he bought it mid 60's with the Novitec on it and the Mod's
    It was a steal.

Surprisingly, this auction is still not taking off. Hard to understand how a well sorted-out driver (because in the end that's what this car appears to be) wouldn't fetch in the 85K-100K.

Maybe all the action will take place in the last few hours, as it's often the case.

I don't think it's the correct venue for this car if it is well sorted. Personally, I think many would hesitate bidding on a Ferrari on a web site named "bring a trailer"

    I don't.

Seems to be plenty of cars that pull good money there.

    This one blows my mind-

That lightweight M3 is a pared down version of the strangulated US market M3, which was around 46 bhp down and didn't have the full M3 suspension. You can get a full fat Euro/global M3 with all its horses present, and real M3 suspension, for a fraction of the price the auction is asking, anywhere else in the world.

I know... I felt the same way in the beginning: what reputable automobile auction site would call itself "Bring a Trailer"?

While I don't know that auction house's full history I'd speculate they started off small (auctioning off clunkers) and then when business started catching on they were still using a name that implies far less than their business had become.

Now that they have become a definite presence, their unfortunate name has stuck.

I have no problem with the name. Probably 99% of Ferrari's sold will be picked up with a trailer for delivery.

If it was called "bring a dumpster" I would be a bit concerned :)
