Not unless a private coachbuilder had redesigned the rear end the 812 left the factory with. The 812 looks amazing from every angle but the rear, but the rear looks SO BAD it kills the entire car for me. I'll say it again - every front end v12 design after the 599 has been another step downhill.
Different strokes. To me it just looks like a jumped up Corvette from the rear. Nothing against Corvette's, but I like the smoother single light design of the previous models much more.
Yes, I do see what you mean about the Corvette. However, it's the overall picture that does it for me. I never have liked the look of the 599, especially from the front.
There's a great big thread in the F12 section about the looks of the 812, but for me, a big V12 (among the last) can't be beat. History will remember only one turbo - the F40.
What he said. If you end up not liking it you can sell it and always get another 488 or whatever it's successor will be. I personally like the F12 more but I don't have your problem, unfortunately.
If money were no object: definitely. That one in the "surfing" ad sure sounds sweet! http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/ferrari-discussion-not-model-specific/547015-surfing-812-a.html
I would not. I think the engine and tech in the 812 is great. The looks - not really especially in side profile. I'd keep your spider or go buy an F12 if you gotta have a v12 Robb
The question is if you do the flip will you be looking for advice to flip the 812 after 6 months? Basically have to decide what you want.
Thank you everyone for your thoughts. The 488 spider has been an amazing car after 8000 km. After having the good fortune of experiencing the last three generations of mid engine Ferrari, it is time to give the V12 branch a shot. I would keep both if I could but with a 6 month driving season I wouldn't have the time to properly enjoy both especially in light of family and work. In the meantime I plan on putting as many kilometres on the 488 spider as I can while I still have the privilege of owning it.
I saw the 812 in the metal last evening at our local dealer's "launch" event and it looks lovely, especially at the front. Not so sure about the rear, which looks a bit like a corvette. I was told, however, that the entire production is sold out, so if you haven't put your order in by now, you may be too late. This may, of course, only be the case for the UK.
Yes Absolutely I would take mine in Nero Daytona with Nero leather interior matt corsa grigio wheels and Rosso Corsa brake calipers.
Personally yes. I haven't driven an 812 but have driven plenty of 488's and F12's, not to mention I have currently Spend time driving most of the current Ferrari range regularly Personally I love the NA V12. 488 turbo engine is also awesome but I woild take the V12 any day. Just my opinion
