Haha, I know the feeling. It's all good Dave :)
97 Spider, All i'm saying is I pay between 110 to 150 an hour to have my car worked on. If I had the skills of many on here it may be a different picture for me. This car does make sense for lots of guys on here that do their own work.
Beautiful color. I'd be proud to own it - and knock it back into proper condition. But I'm with Tim with too many of the model. We need some diversity. Robb
I actually like the color but think the price is a bit high given the condition plus the fact that it needs a major. In addition to all that, how about valve guides, headers, cats? Add all that up and you can find plenty of other cars for sale with similar mileage and better color combos.
Gullwing Motors is not known for "preparing cars for sale". He does get some interesting stuff but I have seen many that would make this car look like it is ready to go on the lawn at Pebble Beach. Just Peter Kumar's approach I guess. Hey, if you watch Chasing Classic Cars you know that he is a "good friend" of Wayne at F40 Motorsports though.
Yeah, one would think a car dealer might, you know, have the car detailed before listing it for sale to maybe help sell it and bring the most $$$.
I would much prefer seeing a car before detailing. True story of car. Most all look like that or worse before if not a museum piece... If somebody needed to detail it before sale you just don't know.
So this car is Still for sale. Makes me wonder if its the car itself or the color thats hurting it.. Personally I still really like the color! http://www.gullwingmotorcars.com/inventory.php?make=FERRARI&model=F355&stock=&bodytype=ALL&searchtype=bymm&Submit=
May have sold at the time and come back into stock as a part ex recently? happens a lot. I do like the exterior colour, not a fan of light interiors though
Could probably be had in the 40s. Decent deal...do a vinyl wrap and make it whatever colour you want.
Was this a "flood salvage" car? The driver's footwell carpet looks suspicious. I'm not making any accusations I am just speculating. A lot of seat wear for 21,000 miles. Is it typical for the seats in these cars to show signs of wear at low miles?
I think it's just a car not well cared for. That's really hard to believe that folks would do that but it happens far too often
I agree. Many times at the shop I work for, cars that are less than a year old come in absolutely destroyed. Dirty, scuffed up seats and steering wheel. Looks like it was washed with steel wool. Wouldn't even think it was possible if I didn't see it with my own eyes.
Thank you for the reply. Do you know what the panels in the engine bay, on the sides, are called? I am searching on Algar in the diagrams and can't seem to find them. edit: found the part number. Do you have experience with the passenger airbag leather pulling back? I have a BMW background and typically when these things go bad in the BMW's it's a tough fix. Granted, the BMW stuff is usually plastic deformation.
Yes, I do. Simple fix. First (IMPORTANT) - do not unplug the airbag under power, and leave power off until it's plugged back it. If you unplug under power you will get an airbag warning light and will need to have it reset by an SD or equivalent. The airbag can be recovered properly with "AIRBAG" embossed. Contact Johann at Coach Trim and tell him I sent you. 203-743-6556. It's under $400.00 If you need help getting it out, I can let you know how to do so - it's easy.
Car's mileage is not recorded on carfax since 2006. Odometer is not working. It shows 197,xxx miles in a picture. It has been resprayed at some point.
That 575 has 38 miles though... Oh I know "most" their cars are less then stellar. Though I looked a 355 they had before I had bought mine. It wasn't a horrible car. Sometimes they can end up with decent inventory. I recently had a friend in MI reach out to them on a small collection. All very nice cars. Peter at Gullwing was the only one ready to cut a check for all of them on the spot as others were only looking at specific ones. So he got a deal on them as a package and the seller unloaded everything at once.
