Doesn't stop gearbox assistance, the thin edge of the wedge. We might be surprised.

Interesting as I spent 2 hours in my friends 918 driving in truly awful conditions (rain, snow, ice in the Alps) and the car absolutely amazing. In the dry bits it was probably the best experience i have had in any car.

He has done 23000kms in his 918 and loves everything about the hybrid power train.

For me, I want a light weight 488 with little more power and all the stuff Ferrari usually do for the VS cars with a button called ECU off.

A button that lets the turbo do the natural thing not restricting the torque letting the car burn tires at all gears.

An old school 'widow maker' button.

This 488 GTO will be a stand out for a long time since I believe Ferrari will go back to NA hybrid for the next Multi platform cars from 2019 on.

This will be a modern F40.

Sorry to say something sad for you, but is will be unmotivated a return to NA v8, even with hybridization, turbo benefits in torque, emission and power are more necessary than ever against the competition, I bet V8 won't return NA, then if it happen, no problem, but 488 engine is not a thing we can really complain about. Sure, the sound is different, it is bad? Do not believe so, for the Ferrari sound there are still the V12 families. Great expectations won't remain disappointed.
At the end, as you said, maybe this will be a modern F40, with more electronics, less lag, and a beautiful turbo thrust, even if maybe a bit more forgivable.

So, you basically want a crude, unsophisticated and badly handling car. Ferrari is not into that, fortunately...

Also, manual is out of the question. Manual is dead to Ferrari...

All they need to do iis gto is make 488 sound better and rev higher. Maybe add a drift button.

Has nothing to do with handling. Just want the car to be tricky and challenging and brutal. Todays 458 and 488 is too easy.

So you basically want a bad car. Even F1 drivers say that a benign car is better and faster...

No, I don't want a bad car. I want a car that challenges the driver.
REALZEUS tell me what you think is a good car and what is bad car? So I can understand you better.

If you aren't challenged in a 488 then you aren't driving hard enough. Turn off them nannys and throw it around some.... its rewarding...

Then you're not driving hard enough. Every car has an 'envelope', even the 'easy' ones. You just have to push hard enough to find its edges.

Easy car for it is easy to put the car on the edge and play with it.

458 and 488 is easy in terms of exploiting the edge.

They are very very well built cars.

Easy car is not a bad thing. It is indeed a good thing for driving fast.

I just want a challenging car, a car hard to exploit at its maximum.

    It is just my opinion.

I just wish it will have some more serious track options like GT3 RS. Optional items like rear spoiler, front splitter, roll bar, single nut wheels, etc. would be very nice.

Beauty of ferrari is they get all the necessary aero without adding on wing like porsche. Single lug wheels are total pia. Only for looks. We dont get roll bar in usa on porsche either. Would take speciale over gt3rs by factor of million whether for track, street, show, investment, etc

Aero for track is a bit different than the aero needed for street driving. If you want to seriously drive your car hard on the tracks you need those additions not just for the looks.

Aero is only for track. No purpose on street. Regardless Ferrari downforce figures typically superior to porsches despite no wing.

Single lug wheels are only for looks because they are terrile. Many porsche drivers who track swap them for 5 lugs. Hope ferrari doesn't star putting them on series production cars

in general, I believe ferrari track models are just as serious on track as corresponding porsche gt cars

I think this is launching sooner so Ferrari will have their v8 line up faster than the McLaren 720s. They may not say it but they watch and see what they are doing. We all love Ferraris here but McLaren is def getting better and better for a young company.

They are getting better but still not as reliable and depreciation is a big issue.

Ferrari prepares two platforms. They have cheaper and faster development...
