Looking to add the right Vantage V8 Prefer dark gray or tungsten silver and 2007-2010. Stick is great. Sportshift is also an option. Send me a PM if you are selling your car Robb
I know you said private party but look at ferrari of Houston website. They have a pretty 2011 in silver. I saw it when I was there picking up my 458SA. No affiliation but looked like a good deal to me.
man I want a Vantage.... I was recently in Dallas the AM dealer there usually has a decent selection... but clearly not private party
Since your thread title is asking for Vanrage, let me provide you with an Angry Van... Image Unavailable, Please Login
I had one for about 5 years. Beautiful car, sounded great, and everyone seemed to think it was the bees knees. It was a 2007 manual shift with all the goodies, in a TdF type color with stunning deep tan (not chocolate) leather. But I have to be honest, it had very little "passion" in the driving experience. Seeing it parked at the office, or out in a grocery store lot always gave a rush of excitement. Firing it up and hearing that beautiful exhaust note was always a treat. Driving it? Constantly left me bored. YMMV, but I'd strongly recommend driving one for more than a 5 mile test-drive if possible.
I would agree that in stock form they are a bit aloof. I've been fortunate enough to own a few special cars, including a couple of Air cooled Porsches. While my Vantage is not as visceral as my 930 was, with a few well-chosen modifications, it is every bit as engaging and painless to drive as my 993. The combination of the factory power kit, sport cats, and an ECU re-programming from Eurocharged really woke up the car. I've never had the pleasure of driving A Ferrari, so I cannot compare it to that, but I found a Vantage to be a very satisfying, engaging, and hassle free vehicle to own. Please do your research, but one very satisfied owner over here.
The early ones seem a bit anemic. MY 2009 and on they increased HP from I think from 380 to 420. Supposedly improved handling then also. I'd avoid the 2006-2008.
We already have several Ferrari's so we don't need the vantage to replace that experience. Looking for a more relaxed and refined experience. Daily driver even... Robb
Anyone own a DB9? Comments? I'm liking later years like 2010-2014 DB9s. Astons definitely look gorgeous and are nicely finished. Haven't actually driven one.
Here is a good deal on a DB9: I wouldn't worry about the miles if you are going to DD. https://www.carfax.com/vehicle/SCFAD01E99GA10778?sourceSiteId=10&partner=CTO_C
Awesome video one of our clients put together after installing our X-Pipe on his new Vantage V8 [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b83sSQN-hxM[/ame]
Yes. A DB9. I have a Volante with manual shift in California Sage. Fuse 22 removed (DB9 owners will know what I am referring to). As enjoyable as my 550...but for different reasons. Check the British section for a manual coupe for sale that I recently spotted...
I have a 2007 V8 Vantage with manual trans, lightweight flywheel, twin-disc clutch, tubular headers, sport cats and muffler, and ECU tune and it is certainly entertaining to drive. I've had it for about 18 months and so far it's been beautiful, reliable, and plenty fast. Also sounds like the Aston Martin IMSA race car.
I'm on the hunt for a 09+ vantage in quantum silver, manual, as well. Have always wanted an Aston and am never going to be content until I at least try ownership!
Fuse 22 works on the Vantage as well. Agreed on getting an 09+. Also check out Definitive Guide to New Gaydon Era Aston Martin Best of luck in the hunt!
