20k to 30k over??!! why? just get an m4 or amg for sticker. alfa will fail (for sure) with that strategy. will they try that with stelvio qf too? just get a macan instead
Macan = boring, AMG and M just plain ordinary. They are beginning to sell for MSRP as inventory increases.
That's crazy. I know of two blue ones with around 1200 miles on them that they will let go for way cheaper then that. One was crashed and the other is a demo.
In some towns, that's known as the "idiot tax". Find another dealer. When the EVO first came to the US, there were dealers in the Boston area asking over MSRP. But other dealers would talk. The "nearest" dealer isn't always the best one.
A quick glance at the Alfa Romeo Austin site shows all base and TI Giulias at about 20% off sticker. Is this unusual compared to other markets? Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
I agree...30k over MSRP is nuts. I am not in the market for a Giulia, but really wanted to see a Quadrifoglio in person, as I have read and watched many complimentary videos on the car. The one I saw was white exterior, black leather with red contrast stitching. Looked real nice in person.
Giulia qf is nice car but its still just a basic small sedan. Its not a car to lust over. Sports cars that you dream about are the ones that get over msrp. Not 4 doors. Alfa will need everything to go right to survive 10 yrs in usa and dealers asking over msrp is sure way to fail. And I do remember mitsubishi trying that with evo about 10 yrs ago. Look where they are now. And evo had a cult following too. Giulia has nothing like that yet
Paying over MSRP for the QV is insane. I just bought one with a slight discount. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
A dealer near me has 4 Giulia QV in stock, one exactly like I would want it, all marked up by $15k - a complete turn-off.
It is QV - Quadrifoglio Verde - historically, top of the line Alfa models are named QV and have the green cloverleaf, e.g. Milano QV, 164 QV, ...
I just can't see anyone paying over MSRP for the car...funny though how the posters saying that are all in California?...would you be in the Silicon Valley area? My brother is in Mt.View and he was telling me that dealers in his area tend to inflate the pricing of certain cars
Anybody see my post #955 and care to comment? They're blowin' 'em out here in Austin. (not the QV).. Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk
gotcha!...just found it curious...here in the tri-state area only 1 dealer tried to get get a 10k premium on a Quad BUT that was with the initial limited batch that arrived in the Fall of 2016...otherwise the dealers in my area who got one were MSRP, nothing off.
You don't have to buy where you live. I purchased mine from a dealer 1,200 miles away. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Nice Geno, What color did you get and how do you like it so far? The car looks great in person in my opinion, If I was in the market for a new change of pace DD, the Alfa Guilia QF would be at the top of my list.
Unusual to sell for that price? Probably not. Unusual to advertise at that price? Yep. I did a quick web scan, in my area: Three of the four Alfa dealers "nearby" (within 150 miles) have QF/Vs. Two listed all their Giulias at MSRP. That doesn't mean they'll sell at that price, but that's what they put on their web site. The third (Nashville) didn't list a price on their QF/V. I'm beginning to think all the AWD Giulias ("Q4") are painted white. In the Austin area, they might be advertising below MSRP to get feet in the door. Are Prius's selling above list, there? The Giulia is the first really worthy successor to the EVO. The 135iX and CLA45 AMG came up "close, but no cigar". While the Q4 doesn't have the magic of the S/AWC, the Giulia has refinement the EVO lacks. So, yes, the Giulia is a car that some petrol heads dream about. Delays may have hurt Alfa, as they had to go with a Giulietta for Fast 6. But look what the FF franchise did for the EVO. The Mitsu dealers in the cities were asking over list for the EVO VIII, because they got them first (and 2F2F was a 2 hour Mitsu ad ). When the dealer a little outside the city got some, they put one aside as a demonstrator. I then got one under list from that dealer, but I had to wait until they got one the color I wanted. The EVO didn't really fit Mitsu's product line. When I ordered my X from the factory, I had to wait three months for it to arrive. When it did, the dealer was frothingly anxious to get it out of his showroom. It made everything else on his lot look lame. (Most directly, they dropped the Lancer Evolution, because the new Lancer was built on a Peugeot frame. And rallye dropped 2L mills for 1.6s.) Mitsubishi never really made a profit selling entry level minivan boxes. They recently dropped everything, selling their auto group to Nissan. But I'm watching the Giulia, because I consider it the perfect successor to the EVO X. (The younger crowd who prefer the more raw IX/GSR may go to the Focus RS -- if Fickle Ford doesn't drop it in a year.) For myself, I'd probably prefer a Giulia "Sprint" Coupe. But I put up with 4 doors in the EVO, and two extra hatches on a Giulia wouldn't be a stopper. And I wouldn't have all the kids asking what an "old guy" is doing in a Giulia.
