Project 355: ... New Robust Bypass Valve Design ... Rattles and Buzzes NOT Included!!

Ok, you have our interest, lets hear the good news. When and how much? I already have your cv shields and plug wire loom and they are top tier quality.

 

I had the new "Goth" bypass installed on my car today and it works great! I had a 30 mile drive home and it was fantastic to not hear that annoying rattle anymore. I forgot to take pictures during the install so Goth will have to post them.

 

Saw it in the flesh (?). Functional art. A shame it has to be hidden by the heatshield.

 

I need 1 for my poor spider, it's sitting here shaking the poor girl

The Gothspeed bypass valves have arrived at Ricambi America and are now available! We have several in stock, minus the one which is going to our professional photographer, and one which went "missing" into Aaron's 1995 F355. It is indeed curious how all these goodies go missing when I'm away from the office for a day.

Regarding the skill level required for fitment, is there anything specific which may cause problems, or is it just one giant jigsaw puzzle?

Very easy to install this Ian, nothing out of the ordinary at all.

I finally took the plunge and ordered his bypass valve from Ricambi, but they were nil stock and said they hadn't been able to contact him for a while.

According to Daniel at Ricambi, the beautiful Gothspeed Bypass valves are now back in stock in very limited numbers. There were 5 available, but 2 were pre-ordered and I just ordered one.... Be quick!

Which was not long. Bought one of these valves last fall and only have minimal miles on the car since then. Been a long winter here in the NW...

Car recently started check engine light with P1448 code. Since I was confident in the valve I figured was thermo or vacuum. Took into RTGT dealer for diagnosis. But turns out that the Gothspeed valve butterfly was completely frozen solid (partially open) and wont move. Even by hand on the bench. Very puzzling since it seems very well designed and executed. Now it looks like I will have to go back to noisy overpriced Ferrari valves.

 

Thanks for the heads up, John. The climate here is less severe, but I'm still not sure if I should fit it. I wonder if the finer tolerances makes them more vulnerable to this kind of thing?
