To me the most beautiful one is the 1954i A6GCS Berlinetta by Pininfarina Image Unavailable, Please Login
No I beleive both were his work. But I could always be wrong about the 3200. I remember when the 3200 was being developed they put up a website where you could participate and make suggested changes graphically to the design. The website was way too early and it didn't work very well. Frank M might remember more as he was running MIE at that time and plenty was featured about the new car in the club periodicals.
for the win. close are the 300 si and 450s. the khamsin is mentioned...as a road car it is a stunner. seeing one on the road is pretty cool. pictures do not capture its presence. Andrew, your father has the best khamsin I have ever seen. I just missed buying that one!
the qp III was a chariot. I drove mine for 50k miles before selling it. that car always drew a crowd at the gas station....which was often!!!! felt like a king driving it!!!!
In case it's not obvious, I asked a flippant question as a joke because you had taken the conversation in an irrelevant direction. Who designed the Bora has nothing to do with whether the Spyder and a 365GTS are similar.
+1 Photo of my favorite version before it's body was removed from the original chassis. Also the Khamsin is a really nice car, but a little large. I was surprised at how long it really is, although very low. Strange but interesting dimensions. Image Unavailable, Please Login
But you also know that there are other Maserti cars which is great other than Maserati GranTurismo...... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
And contending that a 4200 spyder is similar to a 365GTS has everything to do with "The most beautiful Maserati" purpose of this thread ... OK Pot meet kettle.
If any of you ever get a chance check out the Panini Collection/Museum in Modena. Just got back from there and here are some of the cars they had which might be contenders for the most beautiful Maseratis ever. For me it's probably the A6GCS and Tipo 61 Birdcage, however, the relatively modern Maserati Spyder is also up there. Staatsof, you have a marvellous way of picking things out of context. If you actually read my original post I very clearly say why the Spyder is beautiful in my opinion. I end by saying that it reminds me of the 365's which I consider to be beautiful in their own right. It was you that said a Spyder is a Bora in disguise so I responded. This exchange has gotten very silly so that is all I'm going to say.
Well we can agree on that! It was the word provenance which argued about. I never said a spider is a Bora. I casually mentioned that they were both designed , stylistically, by the same man. Sorry if I misled ...
It's gotten way too silly to call it that. Any discussion of his original contention belongs in a car design thread not one about the most beautiful Maserati.
Staatsof, then you might want to say what is your idea of the most beautiful Maserati, rather than just pissing on me (and others).
