And you think this is a good thing? It varies, but most definitely would be a serious mistake for the Le Mans winning 250LM. It is what it is, a period correct race car and all the incorrectness tells a story. Wonderful ... even the mistakes post Daytona accident. A new body would be a sterile replacement IMO. Pete
Wow, what a gathering! Club event? It'd be interesting to know what that group of cars was worth back then compared to today.
If not mistaken, that was the Ferrari Club of America Annual Meeting of 1977, back when the FCA meet was the major Ferrari event in the US with few, if any, of the numerous event options there are today other than Pebble Beach at the time. I attended this event at Watkins Glen, and it was a blast, absolute fun. An incredible entry, with wide variety of early competition and road cars, all running on the full Watkins Glen circuit. None of the pressure of today, cars were driven, and the several examples of higher level restorations were appreciated for setting an evolving standard. It was my first experience seeing in person a 250GTO, a 250TR, a Series I Cabriolet, etc., etc. - Fitzgerald and Merritt on display..... Those were the days indeed Marcel!
All correct. The 14th Annual FCA Nationals 10-12 June 1977, Watkins Glen, NY. Don Dethlefsen won Best of Show with 195 MM Berlinetta Touring chassis #0060 M. Marcel Massini
I really like #6167 when it was painted blue. https://barchetta.mediacenter.pro/?ref=mc_folder&Info=no&l=en&SlSdir=1964569&SlSidx=0&SlSimage=1621088&OpenNew=0&embed=1&Dir=1964569&ft=search.6167&style=Plain https://barchetta.mediacenter.pro/?ref=mc_folder&Info=no&l=en&SlSdir=1964569&SlSidx=3&SlSimage=1621085&OpenNew=0&embed=1&Dir=1964569&ft=search.6167&style=Plain
Watkins Glen 1977: I spent the whole afternoon taking people rides in the 212 Export Barchetta (0158ED) at the right of the photo. Joe and Carol Pendergast brought that car and a 212 Inter. Joe gave me the keys to the Barchetta and told me to take people rides, so I did.
The LM's I saw during the years. Serialnumber is in the name of the picture.
