I have started looking to buy a 360 F1 and due to a leg problem I need to know if a cruise control can be installed on a drive by wire system? I had cruise installed on my previous older Ferraris without any problems. I have asked two dealers and they have never done it and just don't know...Thanks for any info you can give me... If anyone has a really nice, fully serviced, no issues 360 F1 around S.C please pm me...

    A possibility.

I did communicate with Bosch on this about 2 years and they were quite helpful.

Ferrari uses the same electronics as most German cars Porsche, Audi, and VW).

It's primarily a software rewrite in the electronic system along with a lever.

    Can be done.

Well, the good news is that Maserati's have a cruise control and the same basic electronics as the Ferrari's.
So, it is technically doable, and, in theory, possible.
The bad news is that I don't know how you can hack into all the computerized stuff in a Ferrari to add the
    functionality.

The Ferrari code is very similar to the 3 German cars stated as well as Maserati.

We do have many wizards on this site that could eat that code for breakfast!

Only present form of cruise control in 360's is your right foot.

    We may get there, though.

I've fitted a cruise control to my 360 (and previously to a 355) It works as mechanical system connected to the accelerator pedal.

Not sure how the pedal potentiometer output might be modulated... compare it to wheel speed sensor output and then adjust. Hmm I wonder if. BMW module can be adapted?

Sometimes it sure would be convenient since the difference btwn 70 and 80 on the speedo is like 1/2-inch.

...A reason my Spider is argento rather than rosso.

That was one of my thoughts about color selection, too. Even though the shape of a 360 is distinctive, at a distance, my Argento 360 somewhat blends in with the large number of silver cars on the road.

Most of my driving is Point A to Point A, so except for rallies that have long freeway portions, I don't miss the lack of cruise control that much.

Clever to connect to accelerator pedal.
Is it by a chain or lever connection?

Thanks for this info.... I've been wanting to add cruise to my 360 for quite a while, but the aftermarket companies that I contacted weren't interested in proving a solution for a Ferrari - this seems like a competent specialist could do it.

I don't think that the company which markets the components of this system will fit for you and even if they did it would be prohibitively expensive. It took me a lot of thought and planning to come up with a solution based around what they supply. A minimum requirement is making a bespoke bracket to support the actuator in the footwell. IMO the only way you will achieve fitment will be either by doing it yourself or by using the services of someone with some techno-savvy who doesn't want paying!
