Very nice. The decals are a cool touch. Just missing a couple of small details.. - couch / reclining chair to while away the hours admiring the 488; - beer/wine fridge to support the above; - decent sound system...you guessed it to support the above. As an aside, what was the floor made from and what did you paint it with? I have a nice dry (i.e. dusty) concrete floor. Looks similar texture to yours and needs to be painted as I'm bored of the dust on the car! So any advice appreciated. Love to see pics of the 488 tucked up in there when you take delivery.
Hi Floor was dusty concrete with a tamped finish. I gave it a coat of watered down pva to start with and then 2 topcoats if 2 pack floor paint from these people https://www.paints4trade.com/index.asp Trick is to let the paint go off for a couple of weeks to cure properly before driving on it. They do do a primer for bare concrete but the pva worked fine. I would use a proper primer if going over old paint. I have used there paint a few times and it has always been fine. Need plenty of brushes and rollers and a drill and whisk and best to have 2 people do it as the pai t goes off quick after it has been mixed. Yep I do actually need to get a radio and a chair to go in there to!! Just trying to find the right radio and chair....any ideas let me know... Regards Michael Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Fingers crossed end September......going to maranello to pick it up and drive it back over the alps! Regards Michael Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Michael, thanks for the guidance and advise on painting the floor; appreciated. Something to keep my quiet over the winter!! As to sofa...I'd look eames / mies, or maybe a beat up old leather Scandinavian style chair.. Stereo, a beosound 35 would look the part in that garage! or a basic ruark would do the job. I have a cheap psyc monic, that is actually decent sound but my garage is a bit dustier so I'm not too worried about damaging it.! A million more ways to spend your money Cheers Adrian
I'd avoid having the rustic log pile or you'll end up with a combination of woodlice, spiders and sawdust. The only type of spider I'd want in my garage is the 4-wheeled variety.
I have 2 ruarks indoors so.think it will be another one or maybe a revo... I'm thinking I may source an old Ferrari seat and upcycle it into a garage chair.....will keep.you posted! Regards Michael Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Yep my log store is a bit out of place and does have a nice collection of creatures calling it home....!!! Need to have a think on that one....! Regards Michael Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
I like the look of this chair made from some hardwood rod and railing fittings and an old car seat.... Just need to keep an eye on eBay now for a suitable chair..project will keep me busy till the car arrives! Regards Michael Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow, love it Michael....... looks fantastic, I might have to get you to redesign mine, very creative and absolutely spot on. The anxiety to get the car must be killing you mate If anyone you know is passing up my way, and you want something short term, I have some leather chairs (hotel style small armchairs) which being small would fit nicely in a corner without taking up space, just until you could locate some nicer ones. You could even get them re-finished if you wanted..... used to use them in my office but bought new, so you can have them, just gathering dust at the moment
Hi Sid Yep the closer it gets to getting the car the more I have been thinking about it!!! I just want to have it now! I think I've driven Mark mad at the garage!!! That is a really kind offer on the chairs, I think I'm going to have a go and make something...I do like a bit of upcycling... Take a look at my Instagram for some of the bits that I have done in the past if you are interested... https://www.instagram.com/xxthingsilikexx/ Regards Michael
Hi apparently it is status 30 in paint last week, so should only be a couple more weeks now....!!!! Regards Michael
