IMO the Vantage just isn't in the same league and although it may be equally competitent and enjoyable on the road, it will continue to slip dollar value wise. The Vanquish on the other hand appears to have flat lined and has the iconic and intangible special car feel aspect that just sets it in a special class of its own.
Indeed. Plus, the Vanquish has been a key milestone in the history of Aston. And the supply of parts is ensured as the VQ is considered "heritage" by the company.
I agree, this forum is great and has very easy formats. If you can get to the new amoc site, its a lot better with a ways to go. Once you get to the Vanquish section a guy named gtjoey is all over the forum. Lots and lots of info. In short....Av8 vantage is a bullet proof, rocketship for the money with a stick shift and a bullet proof v8. Its An Aston, its exotic, but not as exotic as a Vanquish. If I needed an everyday car for cheap and no worries, the v8 is it. If you want the last hand built v12 Vanquish from the Newport pagnell plant. The Vanquish is it. ITS NOT AN EVERYDAY CAR! You can read all about it in my new book next spring. GTJOEY1314
Vanquish S just sold on ebay for 75K. Blue with tan interior. Talked with the fellow for half an hour... seems like a good guy. I would have been a higher bidder if he had replaced the clutch when the engine was out for service. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2005-Aston-Martin-Vanquish-S/202048253067?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT Horrible photos IMO. Car would have brought 10K+ more with pro photography.
Great color combo. Like it because it has the seats from the earlier non-S instead of the standard buckets found in virtually all S versions. Interior color looks a lot like mine...Ferrari Cuoio.
I believe this is the same car, but I didn't check the vin, now at a dealer asking $119k. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2005-Aston-Martin-Vanquish-S-/192307582248?epid=74004714&hash=item2cc66cd528:g:7HcAAOSwfrJZvBmy&vxp=mtr
that car was was on craiglist did not sell there. I always questions exotics on craiglist. http://carclassifiedscheapads.com/2017/08/24/2005-aston-martin-vanquish-s-blue-for-sale-on-craigslist/ Nobody selling seem to be willing to show the carfax. The add at $119K is skittish for a quick buck I may have notes on that car from the past. EDIT: Also lowering a S is not something I would judged desired. It is low enough already. I wonder how that thing drive outside of a smooth track. Seems to me OEM springs may be needed
Countachqv, Agreed, personally I'm not a fan of custom wheels on the car, the factory rims look timeless and the cars stance is one of the best around, no need to lower it.... I followed your Ebay link and the car is listed for $99K, great deal for someone if it checks out.
Yes price got lowered. Not sure hat is going on with dealer and vanquishes. A manual sold on Bring a trailer and is now flipped for a quick buck on Car gurus. This is not the kind of action that brings sustainable value to the car. The manual was sold for a decent not crazy amount, as the car had a few needs, unless someone is needlessly worshiping the non factory manual installation. Now the price is "on request"! It would be nice to see a car sold to an owner that will buy it for him, not for a flip.
+1 I've been going back and forth for 3 months about selling my car and moving up to a 430 or the like (ie $90-110k range), or keeping it and adding an 06-08 Aston as a GT coupe for more daily use (something around $50k). Or maybe a Maser Granturismo. Or a 911. GTR? Or a manual Audi R8 V8...
If you’re a fan of the V12 Vanquish, there’s a great feature article in Vantage magazine about the very first one to be built, chassis #1.
V12 Vanquish is now an official Heritage model, the car is approaching its 20th anniversary! http://www.astonmartin.com/heritage/past-models/vanquish
Took my '05 out for the first time in quite a while. Fell in love with it all over again. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I owned car #246, 2002 vanquish in bowland black. IMO one of the best looking front end designs ever fitted to a car.
Agreed! Might try to take my Ferrari out there again soon... lovely California winter (summer?) Image Unavailable, Please Login
