Boogity! Boogity! Boogity! Ambulance down the outside! Ambulance on the inside! Ambulance passes for the lead! BHW
I would, but I'm still so pissed about this. They are so inconsistent, they waive commitment cone penalties but upheld the 5 minute rule, giving nothing to the cars that were wrecked. Kind of like opening a 13th spot in the Chase because a "beloved" driver whined that the results were unfair. Garbage.
Uh, could you explain that in English? Commitment cone penalties? 5 Minute Rule? I mean, really, it seems that NASCAR is on such a slippery slope with all these arcane rules that they've become indecipherable unless you're tuned in every day. BHW
And what's with the green dot right in the middle of Steve McQueen's face anyway? Man, that ain't being cool to the King of Cool... BHW
Commitment cone penalties-not entering pit road after crossing a certain point (designated with cones). I think they let them slide b/c of the ambulance being in pit road entrance. 5 minute rule-you have 5 minutes to work on a car on pit road. if car isn't repaired in that time or goes behind the wall, it's a DNF. yes, the sport is now overly regulated. sadly reflects American life
It never ceases to amaze how they've come up with all these nonsense rules over the years. Finally, F-1 is starting to wake up and realize that these absurd "grid penalties" and other ridiculous notions don't do anything to further the fan's enjoyment of the sport. Ross Brawn is right, the whole system has gotten out of control and is a turn-off to fans. Whereas, NASCAR like a bunch of lemmings just keeps following France right off the cliff. Every team must certainly have a team of attorneys in the pits now to interpret the new rules NASCAR puts out every other race. Not many captions but there is no prize winning, just the satisfaction of coming up with something pithy for everyone to enjoy. BHW
Would this thinking apply to "crapwagons" also?? It is also over regulated and mindlessly stupid in its effort to "entertain".
Everybody knows another "big one" is just around the next corner Best to have an ambulance right there for faster service. On scene and ...... In the chase. Maybe add a couple more "stage" wins, so we can award points 4 times during the race. Having Rutledge Woodie walk out on the track to "chat" with the winner is just stupid.
Caption headline ---- Danica Patrick recently retired from NASCAR becomes an EMT. Different vehicle, same results.
