I realise my response to this is a bit late, perhaps the thought is that if its near the driver door is that its in reach of the driver and he can operate it also.

488 Spider is the modern Dino for me.... especially with the straight back window, which you can lower... to have full sound at closed roof... also the side air intakes of course.....

I remember seeing this car at the Maranello 70th celebrations, but didn't know the whole story behind it. What an amazing restoration, congratulations.
