Nice Spec! Out of curiosity, what is the reason people equip Spiders with racing seats? One would think the full electric seats would be a better compliment... (one example is being able to drive with the top down in cooler temperatures, more comfort, etc.)
In my case, I need the extra headroom offered by the racing seats. Besides, the carbon fiber is downright sexy
It's almost exactly the same as my 458 spider. I just downgraded the "full leather" on the 488 as I was never really happy with the choice on the 458....a little "too much tan" Image Unavailable, Please Login
Very nice spec, similar to mine, but Black interior, I went with the race seats as well (expected Nov. delivery), I prefer the look, but have been reconsidering full electric which requires the standard seats. Not a lot of time remaining to change my mind. Jim
I had both (electric Daytona in the coupe, racing in the spider) What surprised me is the racing seats were actually more comfortable. The only disadvantage is you have to move the seat manually no different than if it was the cheapest Kia. But, you do save the weight.
You can change your mind? My dealer insisted "this is it..." I've been toying with black center section of the seat (two tone), but not sure...
Of course you can change your order, all the way up to the date that Ferrari states "no more changes." Given your original post indicating a Q1 delivery, you should have several more months, at a minimum, to make changes. My build is in September, and I've made several changes over the past 3 months, and confirmed my final spec 2 days ago. I was also told a month early that my "no more changes" date was approaching and given the opportunity to make any last minute changes. Not sure why your dealer has you locked already, you might ask, maybe it's some internal policy to prevent extra work on their part. Regarding the seats, the last change I made (last week) was adding Alcantara inserts in the Goldrake race seats. Jim
Thanks, I agree and stayed with the race seats (Goldrake). I realized I never adjusted the full electric seats in my 458 after the initial setting, so the occasional manual adjustment is not a problem. (I also don't mind reducing the work load on the wonderful batteries we all seem to replace every couple of years. ) Jim
Congrats, the 2018 spider is awesome. I still haven't find the CD player if there is one. The location is different from 458
If you chose it as a no cost option, it is in the glove box. If you don’t see it, you didn’t select when ordering.
Same spec as my 458 spider was. You'll find people go nuts when they see the interior. You're lucky you're getting it so fast. And, just in time for Spring.
So I had a long talk with the dealer earlier this week.... Timeline: Early June, no refundable deposit. Mid June, specification with a target delivery of “Q1” Mid October : notice of “January build slot” Latest: January build slot, but factory communication is spotty, so that could be early January or Late January. Let’s say late January to be “safe.” Then 4-6 weeks on a boat to New Jersey and clear customs. Then three to four weeks to truck it across the US to the west coast.....so, late March or early April Come on! I’m dying here! Good thing I’m keeping my 458 spider until the 488 spider arrives! On another note, I spoke with him about getting the new 488 “GTO” (or whatever they’re going to call it). Reserved for their best clients as a first priority. Kinda guys that buy a new car every year or two for the last 10 years. Next on the list are the “mid-tier” guys with a car every “few years” (a.k.a like me). They aren’t taking deposits (at least at my dealership) and they don’t know how many cars they will be allocated. If they make it beyond the “top client list” I offered to help them out by buying a GT4CLusso in order to move up the list....Hmmm...that might help, I’ll keep you in mind. That and $5 and I can get a Starbucks coffee.
love your specs.....very similar to mine but I went with Cuoio or Peccary with more black (btw door panels will be cuoio or peccary, not like below pics) congrats and enjoy!! this is mine.... Q2 delivery but config will be finished in January after visiting Maranello Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Car finally went status 20 - Chasis build late last week. Early June deposit to late January build start - 6 1/2 months. Another month and a half to delivery will be 8 months total...
