^ You do nothing by halves! Looks like the walk in freezer at the grocery story my pops worked at in Brooklyn. T
BGE is great for pork! Love those 2” thick center-cut chops (pics posted somewhere in this thread). Think we’re doing chicken tonight. Pizza, steak, grilled peaches... all good on the BGE. daviday - love a good Caesar. Those anchovies look tasty! Ray
Big Boy's in Sweetwater was written up in Texas Monthly. Have you tried that place? Image Unavailable, Please Login I also did que tonight. A nearby VFD was having their annual barbecue fundraiser. The bbq was OK. Quite frankly, not enough salt, pepper and smoke. Tender though. And a good cause. Peach cobbler was awesome! No I have not tried that one ..Heard this one was pretty good ..Not so impressed . Last time I tried the Texas Cattle exchange about 2 hrs out of Dallas . Much better all around .
Made a turkey and grilled cheese sammich tonight. Had some habanero stuffed and garlic stuffed olives and Siracha kettle chips. Was tasty but my four legged helpers had to finish the sammich off. Image Unavailable, Please Login
^ Love a good sammie. Especially one with some spice. That looks like Costco sliced turkey? If so, my pooch loves that stuff. The merest morsel in her food bowl, and she's transformed from picky eater to chow hound. T
Its the Costco roast turkey breast yeah. Not pre sliced though. Its good stuff and my pups love it too.
Image Unavailable, Please Login Took my garage queen pots & pans out for a weekend spin. Cioppino - usual veggies plus squid, shrimp, mussels, scallops. After my last effort, one thing was not going to be said about this batch - It's not garlicky enough". A whole head of garlic, old a generous portion of garlic powder. Turkey, for turkey chili, browning on the left. Added chili mix, tomato sauce, the veggies on the skillet (fresh from our neighbor's yard), and black beans. T
Sounds good except the mussels. lol Is that at your place? Feel like the stove looks different than you've posted before.
My wife is the same, which is why I ditched the shells before chucking them in there! Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention to her that there were mussels in there! Yes, our place. We renovated about a year ago, complete with new stove, wood floors, etc. We then treated ourselves to new pots & pans. I got tired of the cheaper stuff my wife & I bought when we were starving students, so I splurged on some fancy pots & pans over the past year, most of it French (Mauviel & Matfer Bourgeat), plus a good old U-S-of-A Lodge carbon steel skillet - all of which I highly recommend...T
Slim pickings around here tonight White onion sautéed in butter, Eggs, wrapped with shredded cheese and Olive tapenade Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Needs hot sauce! Image Unavailable, Please Login Turkey chili. Started on Sunday, ate it on Monday. Great with a side salad, and a Portuguese red wine. T
Nice Chili. No hot sauce for me - I had a $2 taco at Dave and Busters today while booking my kids birthday with him and instantly got heartburn. Which is rare and weird for me ☹️ Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I grabbed stuff the other night to make Zuppa Toscana, quite possibly the only good contribution to the world from Olive garden. It is a good soup and it looks like we are headed for soup weather. Put the main parts in the crock pot last night and just added the kale and cream this morning. Soups on soon.
Only been to Olive Garden once. I've regretted it ever since! So, something like this recipe? http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/zuppa-toscana T
Pretty close but Very close but I didn't use bacon or flour. Just browned the sausage onion and garlic. Then cut up the potatoes and put all of that and broth in the crock pot. Cooked on low overnight then added chopped kale and some cream. Tasty soup!!
I also did something with the soup I haven't done in many moons. I remembered I had a small food type thermos sitting in the closet. I dug it out, washed it off and put some of the soup in it to take to work tonight. Worked out well. Can't tell you the last time I even remembered I had this thermos. Brings back a lot of good memories of doing that as a kid.
Old school thermos like jdubbya? Image Unavailable, Please Login On a cold day, nothing better for lunch than a hot bowl of soup. And, a grilled cheese sammie. Crusts removed, cut on the diagonal. That looks good!! Not wanting to eat the same soup for every meal for days I grabbed some ground bison and threw together tacos. Put a little jalapeno in there for spice, some onion and spices. Tasty. And no, my thermos is nothing like that although I did grow up using the little metal lunchboxes like that. Mine now is just a green plastic one. Just about a nice size bowl full of soup.
