Today, November 8th, marks the 42nd anniversary of my 330 GTC purchase. I've always enjoyed driving and servicing this wonderful road machine, still in use as a daily driver. Just over 185,000 miles now. Bob Z. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Congratulations! There can't be many who can claim such long term ownership of such a classic Farrari (Nick Mason maybe). Looks beautiful.
Congratulations from me whose Daytona has been in the same family ownership for slightly less time (27 years with my father and 14 for me). Still in regular but by no means daily use though.
gradulation first engine? never rebuilt? I have my 250 GT/E when I remember right also since 42 or 43 years
Congratulations indeed! Although not a Ferrari, I still have the 1st new car I ever purchased. 38 years and counting. The photo clearly reflects the pride and admiration you've invested in her all these years.
Congratulations and fantastic. But clearly you don't drive too much for a daily driver. I don't drive during the week, just walk to office,,,just during week ends and holidays and still clock 40k miles a year on my different cars. So in 40 years this would be 1.6 million miles,,any car would clearly need a rebuilt....
Congratulations! While not a Ferrari, I have a 74 Triumph TR6 in Mimosa Yellow. Have had it for 40 years now. I still drive and enjoy it every day, in the summer only though. Wisconsin is a bit unforgiving to most cars, but especially small british ones. Perry Image Unavailable, Please Login
Congratulations and thank you for driving this wonderful machine, instead of letting it rot away in some investment collection. This is the best thing for the Ferrari and those of us lucky enough to see it in action. Wishing you many more years of enjoyment.
Congratulations Bob, that's a tremendous milestone. I'll reach 43 years with my very first car in March. However, since I got it while in High School it is definitely not a Ferrari! Your milestone has given me a goal to shoot for. Only 34 years to go...
Thanks to all for the kind replies. Just gives me more pride of ownership. With regards to the relatively low mileage considering the amount of time I've owned it, I can explain. First off, the GTC spent the greater part of its life in upstate New York (14 years) and southeastern PA (19 years). Both states have severely salted roads during the winter and the GTC has NEVER seen salt. I drove the car around seven months per year. ALSO, I drove two others Italian cars regularly in the summer: a 1967 ALFA (103,200 miles) and a 1974 FIAT (149, 800 miles). I retired in 2008 and moved to South Carolina where I now use all three cars regularly all year, accruing around thirteen thousand miles per year total, mostly on the GTC. If I had spent all my ownership time in South Carolina and had only the GTC to drive, I'm sure it would have well over 250,000 miles! Bob Z. While I admire & greatly respect every individual who enjoys his/her vintage car(s) by actually driving it/them extensively as intended, I'd be interested to know how many of these 40K per year miles you're able to "clock" with vintage cars ? I'm just curious, because I think I've been managing to clock somewhere between 5-10K miles per year on average between all my vintage cars in past +/- 35 years, but in last few years felt a growing desire (urgency ?) to spend even more time on the road with them and just wish I wouldn't have to work for living so I could enjoy them by driving even more
