Brian was actively posting for a couple months and now he stopped. Did someone piss him off again?
He went away after the thread in the boxer section for several months then I saw him post a few times in non-technical sections.
He's a seasoned pro Ferrari mechanic, right? I'm surprised he ever stuck around. I salute him for that. Can't imagine any professional contributing to forums of their chosen field inhabited by laymen/private citizens/civilians, etc., and not being frustrated, curt, and tyrannical. As a reasonably seasoned physician, I think I'd only last a week or less on a healthcare forum.
Plus all the drama that some people inflict...makes you just not want to be helpful because you spend twice as much time trying to defend yourself.
I mean, he's been most of those (and rightfully so, I suppose) on here. Some people can't handle it, but it's valuable input.
Yeah, giving advise on the internet requires a think skin to begin with. Add in a bunch of smart people wanting to talk shop about a field they were never is is--well--rather talk to my wife
only thing I don't get is some of the most outspoken internet tough guys when speaking are some of the thinnest skins for listening.
The internet is what it is. But there's no excuse for him to threaten to shoot an ex-forum member if he ever step foot in his shop. Do a search on "Sig Sauer".
He and his wife were both at our F1 party just a few weeks ago, so he's alive and well as far as I know. We talked there and he said he's crazy busy, booked until next February already, so he might just be slammed at the shop with little time for FChat right now.
Once you get used to him you know how to talk to him. Too many ppl like to troll him and he hasn't the time. He comes up with usable advice many times. Otherwise he just reminds us not to cheapen out with our parts and repairs. I think we Stooges frustrate him.
Its pretty tough to be correct all the time and even tougher to admit when your wrong. Problem is what is correct today could be wrong tomorrow. I for one allways enjoy Brians posts even when he is letting me have it. I do prefer when his sites are on someone else though. Dave allways makes a good target ha ha. But In order to make Dave wrong you have to be right and thats not allways easy. You awake buddy!!
Lol! I'll admit, sometimes I didn't like Brian's attitude but one thing is for sure - he doesn't play favorites. Truth be told, I do miss him.
I'm going to see him at the Christmas party next week (if he and the wife go... they usually do). I'll ask him then if he's taking an FChat break.
