Errrr . How was the narrator so straight faced. I would have struggled to do that. It's interesting and I guess is not really a replica at all
I think the project has given this guy some joy and feeling of achievement. Those are positive things. And you have to remember that his budget for the car was $2000. I don't laugh at this guy, but applaude to him. For not sitting on his hands but actually doing something to materialize his dream! Outcome is what it is, but hey; it drives! =)
Friend found this from a local eBay's classic car listing with 4k€ starting price. It has 1.0 Nissan Micra engine in the back, or it should have, it has now been removed as it didn't work out as it was supposed and the car needs work in multipe areas. It is about 3m long,1,2m wide and ja1,0m high and fits 170cm driver. Maybe he got ispiration from this local cool KidVrod. Yikes ^^^ The extents folks will go to. You'd really think that perhaps it is easier to buy the real thing. I guess there might be some cost reduction in insurance.
You could say that. Looks like a lot of skill and effort went into this one. Mustangs considered rare over there?
It is easier to buy the real one, as you can "never" registerate that in road here. It would need to pass today's emission, drive by noise, crash test etc. everything that new car has to pass in EU to be street legal. No, their not common like in states, my estimate is that they sell maybe 10-15 new Mustangs a year (there is 2 612 922 car in whole country), so while they aren't that common you can still find one if you want one, there is 12 used Mustangs (2015-17) for sale at the moment. But brand new EcoBoost is 52 746€ and V8 GT is 80,794€ (from that price 35,594€ is tax, local car tax is pretty heavy). Mustang being that expensive it is out of the value point it was originally build and starts have some pretty serious competition.
I can't read the gibberish in the eBay ad, but it looks like someone took about 15" out of the center of a Mustang. Although the car still has 2 front seats, the steering wheel looks like it is in the middle of the car. Definitely unusual!
This one is still available! https://www.ebay.com/itm/1986-Replica-Kit-Makes-Ferrari-F50-Replica-Kit-Car/172985087185?hash=item2846b6f4d1:gwAAOSwhpZaDmxh&vxp=mtr Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
From the ad: "It is solid and well built, however, it's used so it's not perfect." Glad he cleared that up, sure looks perfect in those pics.
This one is halfway decent by the standards of this thread! Taken at the Toronto fall collector car auction where it sold for $3,575 (CAD) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Unconvincing Ferrari 288 GTO replica… Not gross for a lot of money, but certainly won't fool the Ferrari tifosi. https://bringatrailer.com/2017/11/22/convincing-288-gto-replica-1986-ferrari-328-twin-turbo/?utm_source=dailymail&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=2017-11-23
How about this 2003 360 (Hyundai Tiburon) posted in NY Craigslist (now taken down) https://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/k6vkqqjskahwtlnhlnq4.jpg
What a 250 GTO cabriolet would look like if you described it over the phone to somebody who can’t draw and he left the drawing to another guy who is not very good at shaping a body..... (and yes, Indo know there isn’t a 250GTO cab) http://www.exoticsonroad.com/picture/?1449634/Tribute-MX-250C
I've always thought about buying one of these. I have some ideas for other brands' versions of the Fiero, and this would be a great starting point (wouldn't look like a Ferrari rep when I got done with it).
If i was going to do a replica i believe i would go this way , Diablo on a nsx frame. https://www.ebay.ca/itm/1991-Replica-Kit-Makes-Lamborghini-Diablo-SV-NSX/232909715689?hash=item363a8038e9:g:KewAAOSwPhhbIowF Image Unavailable, Please Login
