Not sure how a Guilia can be as quick as an F12 on such a fast circuit. Alfa driver must be quite the shoe. I thought I recalled the 599 GTO was closer to 7 mins. If I am recalling correctly, seems a big gap to an F12.
Yah I'm not sure why next spring with the monster SUV. Maybe the weather is scaring them? Or it needs more development?
checked out stelvio today. sat in it but no drive. looks good outside. decent size inside but interior is where they cut costs. not nearly as nice as jaguar inside. would have to drive it though i would be very interested in qf but no info on when i could get one. dealer is expecting about 10/yr and first 2 are taken which would leave me at 3. deliveries start in spring so that would put mine into summer best case which does not work for me. just too easy to just get a macan or amg glc instead. shame
Yes, a lot smaller. The Maser is much more luxurious and faster. The Stelvio seems more like its going against the BMW X3.
Comparison of specifications from Edmunds (Alfa Romeo/Maserati/BMW X3) Fuel tank: 16.9 gal./21.1 gal./17.7 gal. Cargo capacity: 18.5 cu. ft./19.4 cu. ft./27.6 cu. ft. I think the Maserati looks a lot better from the front due to the longer nose overhang, but it also has a rather generic side profile. The angry insect front ends on both the Giulia and Stelvio could have been done a lot better.
Dan Niel of the Wall Street Journal reviews the Stelvio in today's paper. His main conclusion is that it is pretty and pretty sells.

Picked up one Saturday. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Likes: Power Precision handling ( as in a mere touch of the wheel moves it instantly) Very light on it's feet. It's an Alfa Romeo (not one of the usual suspects) Dislikes: BMW like infotainment controls. Our Jeep Grand Cherokee's FCA product is 100% superior. Yet, I heard that's used in Maseratis and customers complained of Chrysler's parts bin used on high end automobile. Perception over reality.
Sweet ride! Did you buy from alfa Westbury? I spoke to them about stelvio qf but got no where fast. Wait lists, only few per year. So now its either macan gts or amg glc for me instead. Stupid alfa, I would've been perfect customer for them. Oh well
not swimming in qf version, i dont think. dealer told me will get their ONE allocation for YEAR in January. so have to buy it without test drive. no thanks when porsche, amg, bmw, audi, and even jeep offer hipo suvs that are readily available
