Is anybody able to identify this 275 GTB taken at the August 2015 Gordon McCall Motorworks Party at the Monterey Jet Center? I was there but did not note the serial number. Marcel Massini Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks Boudewijn. Here's another unidentified one from the August 2012 Monterey Jet Center party. Marcel Massini Image Unavailable, Please Login
I´m a little bit curious about the story behind the diffuser that's mounted on #06437, is there any story behind this "modern" looking diffuser?
The "story" is that designer and original owner Battista Pininfarina had it built exactly that way. This was in January 1965. Here's a rare pic showing the car at the Frankfurt Motor Show 1965. Marcel Massini Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thank you very much for the quick answer, this pic is what i was looking for, I have no more doubts whatsoever.
6437 is in Gooding's Scottsdale sale. Appears identical to 6721 (see post #11) except for the diffusers
Ed, 6437 is the car that you owned. It does have the diffusers. Your pics posted previously. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
OK, but I wonder about the S/N. At my age I am easily confused, but wasn't when I had this car back in the 70's. I seem to recall that I didn't actually own this car but had it on consignment from someone in Northern Ca. Surely I would have looked at the S/N. As you may know, Marcel has all my old car files, so I have nowhere to look. Oh well.
Hello Ed #06437. You and Rick Schrameck offered it in March 1976, it belonged at the time to Don Vincent Gaxiola in San Francisco. Kindest regards Marcel Massini
6639 listed as a 6 carb, also noted to have been converted to longnose, could this have been after this 1982 photo was taken ?
March 1992 Athané Automobiles in Paris advertised 06639 for sale and described it as shortnose. Marcel Massini
some sources give this car was delivered as new to a Mr Bally in Belgium and when the car was for sale at an Bonhams auction(26 may 2003) the description of the car is given as sold to somebody in Florence ,Italy so what is the right information?
Belgium is wrong and also it was NOT sold by/thru/via Garage Francorchamps SA. Oh, the name is Balli, not Bally. Marcel Massini
Here's 06639 in May 2017 during the Cavalcade Classic in Modena. Marcel Massini Image Unavailable, Please Login
Image Unavailable, Please Login September 18, 1982 - Hoosier Swap Meet at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway - My penultimate GTE 4959, Lee Wilson's 275 GTB Alloy (Does anyone know the S/N?), Lee Wilson's 250 GT Spyder California Alloy SWB 2383, Ed Howell's 365 GT 2+2 'Queen Mother' 13151 - I was fortunate enough to have driven them all - including laps around Road America in the California Spyder!! I thought I had recorded the GTB number but it is lost and Lee, unfortunately, can't remember. Anyone?
Maybe I'm confused, wasn't the ex Carlos Macaya #7239 repainted this colour after that lovely gentleman passed away? Or do 6639 and 7239 now both look the same? (7239 has a black interior, your photo suggests the 6639 is with beige?) Happy New Year by the way.
