    re: TR’90 USA

Italian Car Parts tell me that they can rebuild the:
    - hydraulic hose from the clutch housing to the chassis (PN 124840)
    - the oil hose running from the oil tank to the engine (PN 125475)

These steel braided hoses are NLA.

Has anybody had experience with rebuilding these hoses?

Are there not many firms that make hydraulic hoses around in USA ?

As long as the both ends are in good order they can remake them for you imo ... (at least over here they do).

And always ask them to make more than one ... :D

Any aircraft hose shop will replace the rubber/steel braid line. Hoses Unlimited in Oakland, Ca will restore, rebuild just about any item. They replaced all oil and hyd lines on my p-51 25 years ago. Still working fine.

    Thanks all for your input.
Here is what I came up with for the clutch hose....

The folks at Girodisc recommended Orme Bros:
    https://ormebrothers.com/

Joel at Orme Bros. had two options; a Dash-3 hose with fittings that looks close to OEM (silver finish - not yellow) and a Dash-4 with an ‘extra’ fitting to go from the AN to metric fitting.

Joel sent both versions to me with same day service! $35 each.... and yes, he knew it was a Ferrari!

The Dash-4 hose (.22” ID) and fitting (.17” ID) is essentially the same as the OEM fitting ID of 4mm (.16”). The extra threaded connection is unfortunate, but the +/-OEM ID make it worthwhile.

    Spec FYI:
OEM hose has M12-1.0 fittings - female at the bulkhead and male 90deg at the clutch housing.
The length is 20-1/4” from the chassis fitting’s end to the center line of the 90 degree bend.

Thats all for now.... if the install proves to be problematic, I’ll update this note... right now the engine is still out.

Thanks again to Joel at Orme Bros! Highly recommended!

    Cheers,
    Vincenzo
PS: for a concours car - try this on the fittings before assembly:

PPS: Still sourcing oil hose leads...

    Regarding ItalianCarParts.com

I had conversation with the owner last week (Tuesday Jan 2) and he suggested that I send my OEM hoses to him for a ‘rebuild’. We also spoke of an order for ‘other’ bulk hoses as well.

After not hearing back from him with a tracking number and not seeing my credit card charged, I figured he forgot about my order. Over the weekend, I sent an email to him to formally cancel my order and eliminate any potential for confusion.

Low and behold, today he charged my credit card! I called him and he now claims the shipment went out days ago. Never heard of a business that ships first and charges the customer days later.

Hmmm.... unlikely. No tracking numbers provided.... no package at my door.

    ItalianCarParts is at:
    5665 Hood Street #515
    West Linn, OR 97068

A PO box at the Post Office!

I am very glad he doesn't have my OEM hoses.

    YMMV - use caution.

    Best Regards,
    Vincenzo

Interesting. I found myself in the West Linn area last year with a free afternoon. So I called the number for Italian Car Parts. They answered and I asked if they had a couple small items that I could come by and pick up. The response was that they did not have a retail location and that I would have to order on the site. I tried a couple times to get them to relent and got nowhere. Someone else got my business.

I have had very good luck with Italian Cat Parts in the past. They have the cloth braided black hose that matches the original sizes, which most other suppliers are unable to get.
