One Owner at the time of the original ad, technically 2 now! Good point... haha. Someone's wife is not letting them keep it...
Very nice. I daily drives a 2000 Dinan M5 with 81k miles. Look like it has upgrade front brake calipers too. For such a collector quality M5, a set of original shadow chrome wheels should interest more potential buyers.
Timeless beauty,I have always liked these. Just to point out a major selling point, this car is manual transmission?
The M5 came only with a manual. I've wanted one of these for so long...timeless IMO. 400hp sedan with a manual. What more do you need. GLWS
I have to admit, this is the first thing that came to mind for me as well- with 10K miles, collector quality stock/OEM wheels would show better. Best of luck with the sale- sorry you can keep her! I've daily driven a 540i manual for 16 years now (hard to believe that long!), and last year picked up a clean 2002 M5 from Enthusiast Auto Group (specialist in clean M cars) as I have always wanted one. The M5 is the best overall car I've ever owned (including my old modena ). I don't care if the new hyundai sports car is as fast- these are the peak of BMW to me.
No, it sold within days of the listing. Never actually posted photos, etc. Sadly, the new owners wife does not want him to keep the car. He spent the past 5-6 months preparing it for concours car shows... wheels back to OEM. We are taking it back into inventory any day.
Sucks about the wife. It's hard to find a woman crazy about cars, but they're definitely keepers (both the M5 and a carnut woman). My friend had to sell his his 2005 E46 M3 a few weeks back because of his wife. It was a white on cinnamon with 16k original miles and gorgeous. Sold in the 40s I think to a father and son in the DC area. He has a new M3 so the wife didn't like they had two...
What does anyone’s wife have to do with what car a guy drives? I’m serious. I don’t get it. Is she the car police?
I'd guess he's henpecked more than I thought. I'm not opposed to being married, but I wouldn't marry a woman that doesn't support my hobbies as long as they don't financially strain the family. He's a dermatologist and money is absolutely not an issue at all so I was baffled. I asked him to hold onto it for another 6 months and I'd buy it (I'm moving in 6 months and don't want to relocate multiple cars). What a loss...
My 2001 M5 was Lemans Blue, so was my 540i, really nice color. The only wife I have is an ex, and when I meet my girlfriend seven years ago one of the first things I told was I have an addiction (to cars), nothing surprises her (and she has gotten 6 new cars in those 7 years) now.
Absolutely beautiful! And if I do NOT purchase the 2000 Acura NSX-T Monaco Blue Pearl, low miles, stock on here. I will definitely be interested....
Thanks for all the great/funny comments! Will post some photos with the original OEM wheels on the car AND the final detail.
