I'm Harvey Weinstein's personal secretary.
I used to have that job. Had to file a workers comp suit over carpel tunnel.. My wife also couldn't understand why I was working so hard.
Actually, this is me. I'm kinda famous. My boss is the big guy on the left. You might know him too. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks for the serious responses. I was actually trying to gauge what areas I should look toward in starting my own business eventually.
Many users didn't take your question very seriously because of the implied mindset that you're willing to do something just because it makes money. The consensus answer to "what do you do for a living" has been that any job or profession can make enough money to buy some kind of nice car and lifestyle. How much you make is much more dependent on how hard you work, how perceptive you are, and what you make of your opportunities and cash flow. Many users also add that liking what you do makes it a whole lot easier to be good at it and spending lots of hours practicing it in order to be able to command higher income. These themes are reiterated consistently in these threads. As a starting point, start by developing the habit of doing your homework. You probably thought you did by asking your question, but not really. What you did was to assume that you deserved time for personal answers from people that didn't know you at all just because you asked it. You didn't introduce yourself, you didn't search the forum for the 100+ times that this question has been asked, you didn't synthesize those prior responses into a framework that fit your situation, you didn't identify how your situation differs from the other prior answers so as to ask those specific things that truly hadn't ever been answered for your case. If you had done anything along those lines, you would have gotten much more serious and personal answers. Having expended very little effort on your part, many users expended equally little effort on their part. Instead they answered in ways that they thought would be interesting and amusing for the users they did know, the other users reading the thread.
Goatgonads - Read Yin's post above... he's right on - you could probably name just about about any profession you can imagine, and there's likely someone or someones here who are involved in that field, or have been at some point and may do something else now. What do YOU want to do, if you were to start your own business? Forget about $$$ for a minute, and if you were to decide tomorrow you were going to start your own business, what would it be?
I think this is great advise for Goatgonads..........but come on, does anybody really love what they do for income. I sure don't. I have hated my vocation all my life and will retire the end of this year still hating it. But.........I have owned exotic sports cars since 1972. I guess at the end of the day I did luck out.
We're perhaps being harsh to Goatgonads. He's really just asking "how to I make lots of money?" Right now, it appears that starting any company with "blockchain" is the key. Or maybe you could link that with something else. Maybe Hyperconverged Forex Blockchains? You could issue a converged ICO/IPO and be the next Enron.
Yeah, but starting with doing what you like/love is at least just that - a starting point, right? Now, if Goatnadlo comes back & says: "I want to start a company that makes hand-powered butter churns - I see a real opportunity there!", then we can always tell him: "**** it, Bro - just learn how to write code & move to Palo Alto."
Here's what I always tell someone who wants to start a business. Imagine you're flying over your location. You'll see a lot of rooftops, some commercial, more residential. Now, think about what goods and services those rooftops want. Then think about how to deliver those goods and services: Fast - Accurate - Cheap - Easy. FACE. You don't have to hit all four, but it doesn't hurt.
There are two professions that are recession proof and always make money: funeral parlors and coffee.
That's exactly how I got into being an International Arms Dealer who like to paint on occasion... everybody needs guns & artwork.
I don't even have clue what in the hell that is.......or how you found it........but you need professional help Dale.
