Very nice M8 D from 1970. Who has one of those hanging around in the garage? Very cool.

  4. Which one might that be?
'Wish it were me. Only saw one Can Am in person (The Bridge, 1969). Cool indeed. See my signature. :)

    Good Luck.

Your turbo/intake setup---> in the V portion turbo's which then goes to a coolant radiator to cool into the intake of the engine??

Yep, I believe the AMGs are the only ones with this set up right now.

The M8 used the same set-up. Here's the pic of the road car version engine. The one at the ROAR was more exotic with carbon fibre.

How hot do those turbos get? Ever since the introduction of turbocharges mounted in the "V" of the engine I have wondered about that.

Pretty damn hot. The shielding works well though. It was nice during ROAR though because it was freezing out so we'd pop the hood and warm up lol

  19. Savor every second as it's the greatest feeling there is (well.....:D).
Participating can't be beat and when you don't get that feeling anymore, even as a spectator, it's kinda' an empty feeling knowing what it was like and ain't there no more...

I had it from the '60s thru somewhere in the 90s and haven't had it since. :(

'Still love it but just not in love with it. Sound familiar? Yeah like a gal (or guy I guess)... ;)

    :)

I know exactly what you mean.. and this is my first year at the 24 :D unfortunately I have to leave the second the checkered flies to make my flight home but I'll be wide eyed the whole time I'm there. After our race is over and we get loaded up, I'll be free to enjoy the spectacle!

This will be my first time out there. Doing the Ferrari Hospitality thing for the race - should be a good time (and slightly wet on Sunday from the sounds of it).

I’ll make a point of it! Heading up tomorrow, but us spectator types aren’t allowed in until Thursday morning.

Watching Ferrari Challenge practice 3 at 10:40 Thursday AM, and then we’ll wander through the garages to see who we know.

And I’ve said it before, but buying the Racing Radios scanners years ago was money well spent. We love listening to the radio / TV feeds, and then switching over to listen in on specific team radios. And the Bose noise cancelling earbuds with it are magic! We can still hear the engine notes without going deaf.

    See everyone there!
