Agreed. I'd love to know how long this video spans in real time. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
I have seen that video before. From my experience, it takes 8 hours to remove the engine and longer to put it back.
I'd love to know what % of engine out services (pro and DIY) experience at least one fluid leak upon completion. There are a LOT of fussy connections that are very hard to access.
Upon completion, there are no fluid leaks. If it leaks, you are not completed. You test for fuel pressure leaks, coolant pressure leaks, and you look for oil leaks before you declare completion.
I suspect some creative editing in this video since I didn't see him drain any fluids. I also didn't see him open the doors to disconnect the ECU harnesses. That said, I don't believe there were any camera tricks involved with his footwear. The flip-flops did actually happen.
Whole (big) parts of the job are left out indeed , believe me i have just done one. But funny to watch.
It didn't take us that long, it took us about 10-11 hours and we are amateurs and took our time as it was our first time. Also we were following Ernie's thread step by step so that slowed us down too.
I would guess he could do it in 1:30 if he had a lift. He sure did waste a lot of time going back and forth with the jacks.
